Astoudingly good...
2009-11-06 - I never paid attention to this season when it first aired, but decided to check out the DVD. I watched the entire season in one weekend. Wow. I am blown away. This show takes quality TV to a new level. When I think of TV masterpieces, I think of Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Dexter. SOA brings a whole new intensity those shows do not have.
The acting is superb. These characters are gritty and unevolved on so many levels, yet they are very complicated and have depth.
It's funny how, as viewers, we're always given a character to connect to and feel for no matter how immoral they are. With SOA, there isn't one character I am cheering for yet I still watch. Yes, Jax does have a softer side and does have a glimpse of a conscience, but at the end of the day, he still runs on primal instinct.
I heard the second season is incredible. Let's hope it's renewed for a third.

2009-11-06 - Sons of Anarchy is a unique blend of drama, sensitivity, romance and violence all ingredients to make this series compelling and different. It is raw and edgy at times but this is all a necessary factor to the story lines. The violent scenes are not excessive or intrusive, but justified to the story line. Life is not sugary sweet, and underworld crime does exist. The way this series is portrayed is one of a kind. Highly recommended if you like something a bit different. Hard to believe Charlie Hunnam is English - he does the American portrayal so well. Katey Sagal is such a versatile actor she has my highest praise, tough but warm - hard to play role but she has it down to a fine art. I enjoyed this series and look forward to the next.

2009-11-04 - I love this show and the Season 1 DVD set is awesome. Every time I was each episode, it gets better and better. Definetly worth the money as it provides hours of great entertainment. I can't wait for Season 2 to come out on DVD!
