Third album from the son of Don & brother of Neneh follows 2000's 'Living In The Present Future'. Working with a variety of producers including Tim Simenon (Massive Attack) & Al Stone (Bjork), he has moved away from the stripped-down, live feel of his first two albums towards a bigger, more panoramic sound utilizing electronic elements. With personal lyrics colored by his worldview following the events of 9/11, it includes the single 'Skull Tattoo'. Polydor. 2003.

2009-11-01 - As an Eagle Eye Cherry fan, I found this CD delightful. I think it is his best yet, and it has left me wanting to hear more from him. A couple of the songs I have heard on his other CD but it is still very enjoyable.

2005-09-18 - Sub Rosa~ Eagle-Eye Cherry being the brother of Neneh Cherry (spelling?!) is a very good rock album with simple yet effective lyrics and vocals that work quite well. His dress is quite ok but it looks a bit like H&M and that is not a good idea since H&M means bland and uninspired. I like the cover photo but he would look even better if he combed his hair and wore a tie. The book-let is quite well done and photographs serve their purpose but the font is atrocious and that is a big minus. Even so this album gets 4 out of 5 stars and it is definetely not an album to be missed.
He hasn't grown. 
2005-04-13 - Well, it looks like Eagle Eye Cherry is not planning on releasing his newest album in the US. Fortunately, if you go to www.eagle-eye-cherry.com, you can listen to real audio files of the new album. But, before you run off, don't expect much. Where "Desireless" gave us the jazz, fusion, pop melodies of Eagle Eye Cherry, his last two efforts have been relatively flat. Just like on "Present Future", there are some catchy tunes, but nothing groundbreaking. And it looks as if "Desireless" was a big hoax. An unrequited promise of what might have been. We at least have to wait another album to see, but with this latest release, it does not look like he may ever get there.

2003-11-04 - CD is not yet released in the U.S. but got hold of this new release now available in Asia. I have been playing this one over and over and it gets better every time!
