Editorial Review:
Winner of 4 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, A Beautiful Mind is directed by Academy Award winner Ron Howard and produced by long-time partner and collaborator, Academy Award winner Brian Grazer. A Beautiful Mind stars Russell Crowe in an astonishing performance as brilliant mathematician John Nash, on the brink of international acclaim when he becomes entangled in a mysterious conspiracy. Now only his devoted wife (Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly) can help him in this powerful story of courage, passion and triumph.
A Beautiful Mind Reviews:
Exelente pelicula
A Beautiful Mind
2009-09-05 - Not a family movie, as I'm not sure children can fully follow or appreciate the story. It was a great gift for my parents, though. No special day, just got mentioned in conversation and I enjoyed the movie so much that I got it for them, knowing they'd enjoy it.
A Beautiful Mind
2009-08-15 - This could be the most well-made, well-written, and well-acted film ever put on the screen. It certainly deserved the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind" is a classic story of redemption. It shows beauty where beauty is hard to find. It makes you have hope. Russel Crowe plays John Forbes Nash as perfectly as possible. He brings out the most intence emotion that I have ever seen in a performance. You can truly belive the horror of mental illness that his character suffers and he absolutely demands that you sympathize with him. The deep emotions of this movie are intensified by Crowe's co-stars Jennifer Connelly (Alicia de Landa) and Ed Harris (William Parcher). Connelly plays Nash's loving and supportive wife who helps him through his ordeal. Without her it is clear that Nash would not have survived. On the opposite side is William Parcher, portrayed by Ed Harris. He is in some ways the main antagonist of the story, encouraging Nash's hallucinations.
Director Ron Howard delivers yet again another brilliant story. The unique style to his movies is very pronounced in this. He also deserved his Award for Best Director (2001). Howard makes you feel as if you're really there suffering along side of Nash and his family.
So I reccomend this film to anyone who likes stories of terrible devastation and finally redemption.
I give this film 5 stars for it's Brilliant Directing, Superb Acting, and Strong Story.
A Beautiful Mind (2001)-Best Ron Howard Film to Date!
2009-07-27 - A Beautiful Mind (2001)-Imagine learning that the people, places and your most beloved memories never really existed! Best Ron Howard Film to Date.
Note that this 1.85:1 DVD played great on a 52" HDTV making Blu-Ray unnecessary.
A Brilliant Engaging Psychological Human Masterpiece!
2009-06-21 - In the genre of a psychological drama/mystery, every detail of this movie is executed with brilliance and perfection. You're instantly drawn into the world of John Nash, a mathematical genius who is severely handicapped in other ways. You experience all the drama, pain and triumphs as he does in his awkward struggle through college, career, family and social life. There are a couple of great twists here. All acting was great. The casting of Christopher Plummer was very clever - if you've seen it, you know what I mean! It's real gem that thrills, warms and satisfies.
