Editorial Review:
After a team of Russian commados for the fire ambushes his yacht, killing his guest of honor and executing his wife, a wealthy businessman calls in a former Special Operations Colonel to avenge the attack. It's more than just a job, the Colonel and the Russian leader are old Cold War nemeses, and the've both got a score to settle. DVD information includes running time of 100 minutes, full frame and cast bios.
Mercenary Reviews:
Thank Providence this is no longer manufactured!
2008-12-04 - I bought this movie based on the reviews here on Amazon. I guess it depends on what one wants from one's entertainment. For example, if you LOVED the TV series "The A Team", this movie will probably interest you. Unfortunately, there's no Mr. T saying things like "Shut up, fool!"
Seriously, the plot was paper-thin, the acting was deplorable, the props and special effects were comical. For instance, do you remember the A Team shooting sophisticated automatic weapons at people standing no more than 20 feet away and missing them completely? Do you remember each explosion tossing people 20 feet in the air with no apparent injury? This movie is along those same lines.
I gave it two stars out of pity more than anything else. "Mercenary" is a terrible, cheaply-made B-movie to be avoided.
Great Movie! John Ritter gives an excellent performance!
2001-02-19 - Rush out and get this one! John Ritter is excellent in this action/ adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The Project
2000-01-31 - This extraodinary explosive film get 5 stars for originality and intense action fighting scenes. Olivier Gruner gives a non-stop spectacular performance and continues to shock and amaze. With the action, fighting scenes, and overall plot, this movie rates very high on my list.
A great performance of Olivier Gruner
1999-10-15 - The performance of Olivier Gruner was an impressive one. There's a compromise with Steven Seagal. "Olivier why are you still playing in the independant video-scene?" Please give me a website of his fanclub or more information to write him personally.
