Lord of the Rings HD HD HD HD HD HD
2008-08-28 - I saw this broadcast by FiOS in 1080i on a poor quality Olevia 37" 720P LCD. (Don't buy Olevia - junk, junk, junk - antagonistic service.) BUT LORD OF THE RINGS was still GREAT! The video was greatly improved over DVD upconvert.

I hope the sound will keep up. Hopefully the HD sound will be just as impressive.

I expect the time needed is to make it full featured and compatible for the Blu-ray profile 1.3 or even profile 2 if it's not out by 2010. Imagine what the interactive part could be. Blog this thing up!!!


My all time favorite
2008-08-18 - This is my all time favorite movie. I can't wait for it to come out on blu. I hope its the extended version. Also can't wait for the Hobbit to come to the big screen I hear its in the works.

Hoping this will be the extended version
2008-08-05 - I have the extended version of the Trilogy (and also the theatrical release DVD's which I never view any more) and I am hoping that the Blu-Ray Trilogy release will be the extended version !! - As was said in another "Review", these are just comments and not actual reviews as none of us have a copy of the Blu-Ray Release!! I have watched the regular extended version of the Trilogy on my Blu-Ray Player and the quality of the "upscaling" or "upconverting" of the DVD's is absolutely excellent! They actually look better than some of the Blu-ray movies I have. So hopefully the mastering of the Blu-ray version of the Trilogy will be created in resolutions far beyond the current Blu-Ray technology so that when new generations with higher resolutions of HD-TV's and Blu-Ray Players finally hit the market the next 5 years, they will only have to re-release the Trilogy without re-creating another version compatable to the Next Generation Resolutions. Anyway, I am looking forward to buying a copy of the Blu-Ray Release - This Movie sets a new standard and sets the bar so high as far a quality and attention to detail that many movie makers are still trying to catch up. but most of all - it's so true to the telling (adaption) of Tokens' original story to the Visual Arts that the overall Box Set of the Trilogy has past from Legend to a living Myth in the experience of watching all three back to back - and they will Never be forgotten or lost to history.

No LOTR Blu-Ray before 2010
2008-06-24 - I just thought I'd post this here to keep people informed that Peter Jackson did recently say in an interview to not expect LOTR on Blu-Ray before 2010 because they are too busy working on The Hobbit. He did say it's in the works which is a good thing but we all have to wait till 2010 which just seems so far away. I will def. be buying this trilogy the day it comes out no matter the cost.

2008-04-06 - I hope that this trilogy will soon be available in BluRay. Best movies ever made.
