But when two people meet marry and then fall in love they realize they are courting chaos. Description of The Mirror Has Two Faces:
Barbra Streisand's self-absorbed remake of a 1958 French film stars Jeff Bridges as a college professor tired of sexual politics. He makes a deal with a dowdy colleague (Streisand) that they provide companionship for one another, with no thought of getting into bed. She agrees but soon becomes frustrated, the agreement only reinforcing her unfulfilled desire to have a complete relationship with a man. Mimi Rogers is on hand as Babs's striking sister, and Lauren Bacall received an Oscar nomination for her role as the heroine's selfish mother. The film is OK, but it becomes an irritating vanity piece for Streisand (who directed as well as stars). Her character constantly gazes upon her own reflection and is told at least a dozen times, one way or another, just how attractive she is. One wants to shout out, we get it already--you're pretty! The DVD release presents the film in both widescreen and pan and scan versions, plus a Dolby soundtrack. --Tom Keogh

The Mirror Has Two Faces Reviews:
    Excellent Product. 5 Star Review
2009-02-09 - I received the product in a timely matter and it was exactly what I requested in good order.

When the wrong man really is the wrong man there is always.. 4 Star Review
2008-12-23 - A right one! In this movie I found myself recalling a man I had a thing for and felt just like Barbara Streisand when she says "you know what- you were better in my head!" I salute you Babs! Her portrayal of a lovesick realist brings to light the truth about dating and the reality vs. perception. Humorous, touching, and a bit unnerving at its revelations a must share with best friends, sisters, and anyone you love that is close at hand! Or enjoy alone if you just need to see that all isn't lost for the romantic at heart!

    L-O-V-E IT ! 5 Star Review
2008-10-31 - I adore this movie. I watch it 2-3 times a month. It is just a cute romantic comedy - and the situations these two characters find themselves in I feel like we have all been there at one time or another. I have always loved Jeff Bridges, he is the reason I went to see the film to begin with - and he didn't disappoint in the least. I fall in love with him a little more every time I watch it.

Absolutely Loved It! 5 Star Review
2008-07-21 - I was surprised how good this movie was. It started a bit slow, but once you got to know the characters you really cared. Barbra was amazing and it really is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

The Mirror Has Two Faces 5 Star Review
2008-05-25 - Jeff Bridges and "Babs, Dahling!" combine efforts to spark an excellent look into modern romance from an academic perspective. The two Columbia professors meet through a personal ad, written by a sexually jilted Bridges and answered by lonely Streisand's manipulative sister, after floundering through unsatisfactory relationships that left them both wanting more, much more. How do you find and maintain a lasting substantive love in a world that is aflame with "silly romantic notions"? Great supporting performances are turned in by Lauren Bacall(Oscar for Best Supporting Actress), George Siegel, Lucy Avery, and Pierce Brosnan. Marvin Hamlisch also walks away from the Oscars with Best Song. Last, but far from least, it is always a delight to watch one of Bab's directed productions in which she also acts, admire her beauty accented by her remarkable nose :-), and also hear Barbra vocalize on the soundtrack. Buy the DVD and, like me, watch it over and over and over again!
