Editorial Review:
This matching folio to the 2006 release by famed collaborators Elton John and Bernie Taupin evokes the memory and magic of their 1975 masterpiece Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Includes the title track and 9 more favorites: And the House Fell Down * Blues Never Fade Away * The Bridge * The Captain and the Kid * I Must Have Lost It on the Wind * Just like Noah's Ark * Old 67 * Postcards from Richard Nixon * Tinderbox * Wouldn't Have You Any Other Way (NYC).
ELTON JOHN THE CAPTAIN & THE KID (Piano/Vocal/Guitar Artist Songbook) Reviews:
A darn good Elton John Album
2008-03-25 - This album is supposed to be a "sequel" or follow up to his "Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy" album of the mid 70s but this album is far superior to it. "Captain Fantastic" was kind of dreary and spawned only one hit single. This album has lots of good songs on it and is a better follow up to his "Songs From The West Coast" album than "Peachtree Road" was. If this album had been released in "Capatin Fantastic's" spot it would be much better regarded.
Not his best album but certainly upper tier.
Ah, nostalgia!
2007-08-08 - This is not my favorite Elton John album, but I like it a lot better than "Peachtree Road." The more I listen to it, the more I appreciate it. And anyone who loves the original "Captain Fantastic" album will thrill to hear the opening to the song "The Captain & The Kid." This album is not a masterpiece, but it's definitely worth having.
