Elton John: A Visual Documentary Reviews:
Worth of few bucks for big Elton fans
2007-12-29 - I purchased this book used through an Amazon marketplace seller for a couple of dollars. That's about all it's worth. The majority of the photos are black and white and have been published elsewhere. The little, dated "news" items might prove interesting to devoted EJ fans, but most are trivial events not worthy of documenting (e.g. this entry from July 6, 1975 "The Sunday Times reports that Jimmy Connors . . . is involved in discussions with an American company to make a pop record, and that he has the backing of Frank Sinatra and Elton.") Elton fans looking for interesting and accurate information should read Philip Norman's great biography. This little book is more like a fan magazine along the lines of Tiger Beat.
Excellent Book
2000-03-26 - This book has wonderful pictures sorted by year from 1969 to 1993. There are pictures that a very hard to find anyware else. Almost every page is filled with cool pictures and captions with helpful facts. It comes in handy when you need to find good facts on Elton. This A great book for any Elton John fan, I highly recommend it.
