If I Can Dream: Elvis' Own Story Reviews: Quite interesting 2009-07-14 - Like a lot of Elvis fans, I have read most of the books written by "insiders". One common theme seems to be "we were all having fun with Elvis until that (deleted) Larry started getting into his head. So I thought I should read (deleted) Larry's account of things. Glad I did. If it's all true, the Elvis story almost had a much happier ending.
If I Can Dream 2009-01-18 - This book is a tender account of the life of Elvis by someone appearently close to him. With candor the goal of an honest portrayl, the author gives glimpses into the real life of Elvis. No one will ever know the whole story, but those interested in a more unbiased tome will enjoy. I especially like how the author focuses on the spiritual side of Elvis. His spiritual side is the most touching.
Interesting 2008-05-06 - This was a good read. It didnt go as much into Elvis' spiritual search as I would have liked. I have always appreciated Larry Geller's part in Elvis' search. I am glad that in Elvis' final days that Larry was with him to support and help guide him. Alot of the material in the beginning was in other Elvis books that I own, but the rest of the book was really touching. The highlight for me was the list of books that Larry said that he had given Elvis. They are worth checking out and so is this book.
Enlightening read 2008-04-26 - I enjoyed reading this book very much. I believe a lot a what Mr. Geller said but, as with all of the other books written about him, Elvis is not here to refute anything.
I agree with some of the other reviewers that there is very little left of Elvis' privacy. Perhaps we should all just stop buying these books and just listen to his music. That is where his spirit is.
A must have for a true fan. 2007-11-18 - This book brings you inside the private, spiritual side of Elvis, along with his flaws and just plain human side. If you're a fan, knowing all the trashy books out there about him, this one is a breath of fresh air. Mr. Geller apparently cared for his friend, Elvis, a great deal.
