Description of Blue Hawaii:
Elvis Presley's seventh film was the first of his "Hawaii trilogy" (including Girls! Girls! Girls! and Paradise, Hawaiian Style). While its story is daft--the King has just been released from his Army posting in Italy and returned to the islands, where he's trying to avoid working in his father's fruit business--the music is not: "Blue Hawaii," "Almost Always True," and the beautiful "Can't Help Falling in Love." Angela Lansbury plays Elvis's mother, who can't seem to get through to him. Directed by the star's frequent collaborator, Norman Taurog (G.I. Blues). --Tom Keogh
Blue Hawaii Reviews:
The King is Alive and well in Blue Hawii
2009-10-07 - Oh, what sweet memories. If you havent seen a good Elvis movie for a while you gotta get this one. Its memory lane all over again. I loved it and will continue to enjoy it. So glad I was able to find it here on Amazon. Great for collectors!
Sound/picture quality very bad
2009-06-08 - I bought this movie for my dad for his birthday. We went to watch it and the picture went from very dark to normal every few mintues. As well the sound was poor quality . In the future I will probably choose to purchase the DVD.
Hawaii
2009-05-03 - If you like the young Elvis and you love Hawaii
you should enjoy it, the quality of the DVD is excellent
Elvis' Blue Hawaii
2008-12-01 - Fabulous nostalgia! Too bad the Coco Palms Resort was never re-built after Iniki. I had chills walking around at the Resort - Elvis' ghost was everywhere!
Elvis and Hawaii = great movie!
2008-01-18 - This is one of my favorite Elvis movies. I love everything about it, but my number one favorite thing about this movie is Elvis. He lights up the screen and when he sings "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" I melt. This along with Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, and Live a Little Love a Little are 4 great Elvis movies to own.
