The Mississippi River's never seen as many wild twists as in this spirited and extravagant riverboat ride, which stars the King of Rock'n'Roll Elvis Presley and the lovely Donna Douglas of "The Beverly Hillbillies!" Featuring hilarious support from Harry Morgan ("M.A.S.H.") and eleven original Presley tunes as well as his motion-picture dancing debut, Frankie and Johnny is a "sure-fire romppretty girls, a toe-tapping score and Elvis all the way" (Variety)! Presley is Johnny, a riverboat singer whose life, according to girlfriend and singing partner Frankie (Douglas),has become "one great big roulette wheel." And he's so obsessed with that wheel of misfortune that when a gypsy woman prescribes a redhead to be his good luck charm, Johnny sets out to find one. Trouble is, Frankie is most definitely a blonde...and a jealous blonde at that. When she sees Johnny with curvaceous carrot-top Nellie Bly (Nancy Kovack of The Silencers), Frankie decides that she'll break off her romance with Johnnyand end their big numberwith a bang!

Not his finest hour: he's doing you wrong 
2009-01-08 - This movie is kind of an Elvis version of Showboat which is a classical
musical.
The result of them making Elvis Presley in to a contract worker who
stars every year or so with a new different starlet was that he got really
pretty bored. It shows a lot in his performances here:
the zest is gone and what is left is just work in
front of a camera. He must of felt like a piece of meat
sold to the highest bidder.
This picture is about all that is wrong about the contract star system in Hollywood. Sure they get famous and rich, but the soul sold is forever gone.

2008-02-25 - This a good movie love Donna Douglas in it she's great and Harry Morgan is hillarious I would recomend this movie to everyone that likes Elvis!!!!
TWICE I was sent this item in error!!!!!!! 
2008-01-28 - I returned this Elvis Movie TWICE because you sent me a VHS tape and I specifically asked for a DVD. I have gotten one from another source now, so I won't be ordering this one again. Even when I had re-ordered it over the phone they didn't get it right. No problem.

2008-01-25 - This is one of my favorite Elvis movies. It is funny and Elvis Presley and Donna Douglas performed well in this movie.
