The Ed Sullivan Show: Rock & Roll Classics Box Set (3 DVD set) Reviews:
Ed Sullivan's Rock and Roll classics 5 Star Review
2009-12-01 - I watched this on PBS last night and loved seeing the Beach Boys both as the original group-the Wilson brothers, Mike Love and Al Jardine and then later, with Carl Wilson singing Good Vibrations with Dennis Wilson on drums and Brian behind the scenes. All of these groups are amazing. I have to admit that I forgot how they looked back then. My favorite I Get Around clip is on u tube by Tommytaper but this collection is worth every penny!

A Music Collection Must 4 Star Review
2009-11-04 - I read other reviews slamming this DVD set as not worthwhile due to introductions of the clips, etc. It depends on your perspective as to whether this is annoying or a waste of time. All in all they're brief and for the content that is on this set and the price compared to the PBS rip off pricing it's worthwhile to have. I enjoyed it and it does have quite a bit of decent content on it. Where else would you get these clips of such music legends?

What people really want !!! 1 Star Review
2006-02-01 - I own 3 Ed Sullivan dvd, there is some good parts on them, but what we really want is ALL THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ROLLING STONES
!!! ...This is the only way to have about 16 very great performance of the EARLY ROLLING STONES AT THEIR BEST ! With great picture and sound quality ! (not the poor picture quality
that we can find on ebay)...and were are....the DAVE CLARK FIVE ??? They were at Ed Sullivan for about 16 songs ????
.....Are you waiting that all the old fans been DEAD !!! We
also want all the others great rock performance....one after the others....no need for....presentation !!!

    Actually a 2.5 rating 3 Star Review
2006-01-02 - I agree with the other reviews. Narration and extra music between clips is unnecessary and extremely annoying. Watching some performers lip sync is also very disappointing. I just skip over those. There are some performances that are a lot of fun to watch. On the whole, though, I am disappointed and would not recommend this DVD.

More and more of the same 3 Star Review
2005-12-26 - More edited songs, more unnecessary dialogue and more Supremes, Mamas & Papas, edited Beatles (didn't they have their own DVDs issued?). C'mon guys where are all the classic performers we havent seen yet from the 50's and 60's? Put them out year by year or group them with some kind of consistency. James Brown is on this set several times and they used the same introduction each time! I give this 3 stars for sound and picture and finally showing some Dusty, Darin & Rascals and a full I Get Around. Could have been so much better.
