The Last 24 Hours Reviews: The truth about the death of Elvis 2008-08-13 - Elvis Presley The last 24 Hours has got to be the best dvd I have seen about the death of Elvis. Everyone interviewed here is completely sincere. You can see the pain and sincerity in their eyes when they speak. These men are not actors. They are friends of Elvis that cared immensely about him. It is amazing how affected they are even after 30 years since his death.
There are interviews with Sonny West, Lamar Fike, Marty Laker, Billy Smith, Joe Espisito, Jerry Schilling, and Larry Geller. Being a true fan of Elvis, it's difficult not to feel what these guys are feeling when they speak. Billy Smith's account of the last days of Elvis is difficult to watch as he relives such a painful experience. Larry Geller gives a powerful and effective interview in this dvd that has got to be seen by any true Elvis fan.
Anyone even remotely considering that Elvis might have faked his death needs to watch this dvd. After seeing these very personal and emotional interviews and taking into consideration the details surrounding his death it becomes very clear. I highly recommend this dvd to anyone interested in the final days of Elvis.
A Sincere Sharing of Elvis 2007-01-19 - I loved Elvis when I was young, and at 50+ I'm just now re-connecting to his magic and his end of life story as well. So I can't say that I've seen or read all that is out there about Elvis, but the last review prompted me to give my input about "The Last 24 Hours". I have now seen several DVD's about him, the ususal top rated ones, but the self-reflective sharing of the men on this DVD who were close to him left me with an ache that hasn't gone away in the 2 hours since I watched it.
I felt for the sudden loss of such a powerful force in their lives, and through their honest willingness to face the public with their personal stories, I could understand more compassionately the circumstances that seemed so preventable but so unstoppable. The tragedy of it all is carried deep in their hearts. I'm not sure what the last reviewer was looking for, but for me this was the most moving DVD about Elvis that I've watched. Thanks, Diane
A WASTE OF MONEY 2005-08-20 - There is NOTHING new on this DVD. Same information EVERY ELVIS fan already knows. I assumed the CD was by ELVIS, it is NOT, it is an impersonator and has a LOT of static. Why listen to an impersonator when you can listen the to REAL ELVIS? SAVE YOUR MONEY!
This is a waste of money. IT does NOT even deserve one star.
