How do you put together a soundtrack for a comedy about witches--'90s style? Well, if she's young and her name is Sabrina, you compile an album of relentless teen pop and R&B hits. But if your witches are a little more mature (and, perhaps, suburban), as in Practical Magic, you use a different formula. And the brew found here is actually a good mix: Faith Hill gets as much play (one track) as Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell. Mitchell's "A Case of You" is simply great, and Bran Van 3000's "Everywhere" fits the folk-pop mold nicely, as does upstart Michelle Lewis's "Nowhere and Everywhere." The guys are the oddities here: Elvis Presley's "Always on My Mind" and Harry Nilsson's "Coconut" give this disc some fun quirks. --Jim Young

2009-08-24 - I loved this movie and love the CD as well. It's one of those soundtracks that truly evoke the spirit of the movie when one listens to it. I put it on sometimes when I need a bit of extra magical kick to start my day!

2009-07-23 - In this rare instance as also, a few others. This soundtrack is definitly a 100% go with great quality and good music! It's a great movie and u realy can listen 2 the cd and know what was happening in the movie. It's a good thing too, caus it adds to the greatness of it all. Great buy & very much recomended to anyone who loves calm, fun music. This is a great girl roadtripping cd. Love it. Hope this helped people.

2009-06-09 - granted,this is a good album of songs from a good film. but, i would love to see the completed score that alan silvestri did released. okay,so these great songs are in the film. some of us out here love just the music. silvestri did a marvelous job in creating an atmosphere in ever scene. listen to the music where one of the daughters holds a bowl of flower petals and wishes they find a future love. now that is one beautiful piece! how about that great music when the neighborhood women form the circle around kidman, to rid her of the demon. i get chills every time i hear it! micheal nyman is a great composer,but i really was hoping for silvestri's. does anyone feel the way i do??
