He followed up in November 2002 with Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture ‘8 Mile’, which featured the Academy Award winning song "Lose Yourself" and sold almost 9 million copies worldwide. Earlier this year, Eminem’s group D-12 released D-12 World (global sales over 3 million) and scored hits with "My Band" and "How Come".

ENCORE, Executive Produced by DR. DRE, features guest performances by 50 CENT, D-12, NATE DOGG, OBIE TRICE, and STAT QUO.

BONUS DISC: This two disc set includes a bonus CD with three previously unreleased EMINEM songs.

Description of Encore:
Eminem's fourth album offers few surprises, but still enough pleasures to carry the day. As evinced by Em's pre-election, pro-voting "Mosh," this is not exactly the same Eminem who seemingly crapped on anything and everything. Encore finds a surprisingly mature Eminem waxing reflective about his battle with Benzino ("Like Toy Soldiers") rather than unloading both barrels. However, it's not all elder statesmanship: "Puke" goes after his ex-wife Kim with incredible scorn, and "Big Weenie" brings the familiar juvenile humor that made him famous. If Encore has a clear weakness, it's the bland production--the same plodding sound that he and Dr. Dre cooked up on the previous three albums. The exotic flavor of "Ass Like That" catches the ear, but many others run off the same monotonous minor-key melodies and tempos. Of course, people buy Eminem albums to hear him spit first and foremost, and, in that regard, few fans will be disappointed by Encore; it'd just be nice to see him switch up his sound at some point. --Oliver Wang

Encore Reviews:
Show's over Em (1 and 1/2 stars) 1 Star Review
2008-02-05 - There was a time when I did like Eminem. The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP were his best works. I always thought The Eminem Show was spotty and overrated and now we are here. You want to know how bad this album is? Listen to Evil Deeds, Yellow Brick Road, Rain Man, Puke, Big Weenie, One Shot 2 Shot and Spend Some Time. Just Lose It was a terrible first single that sounds like a cheap duplicate single of every first single he ever had. A** Like That is straight up garbage! Rapping like Triumph The Comic Dog through a whole song? He obviously feels that everybody will accept what he gives them because he's Eminem. Mockingbird and My 1st Single are boring. Like Toy Soldiers is a truce with Benzino and Ja rule that we all know is BS because he turned around dissed them again on the corny singalong sounding ego-soothing diss record Bully. Plus who the hell beefs with Michael Jackson? Em's beefs have hit an all-time low. Mosh is a dud just like the bonus three tracks, We As Americans, Love You More and Ricky Ticky Toc. The only track that's worth mentioning is Encore feat Dr Dre and 50 Cent. The rest of this album is straight doodoo.
Bottom Line: Encore puts the nail in Eminem's coffin and is also one of the worst rap albums of 2004. Em's lyrics are extremely predictable, the beats were drab and repetitive and the guests(with the exception of Dr Dre) helped make this album worser than it had to be. Standout: Encore.

Eminem is the best rapper alive!!!! 5 Star Review
2007-04-08 - I disagree with the negative reviews on this album. I especially don't appreciate the comment made about Em being a racist. Have you ever heard of the saying "What happened in the past, stays in the past"??? This is now!!! On the "Yellow Brick Road" track, Em apologized for putting out the tape about him saying the "N" word. The reason being because Benzino tried to sabotage the man's rap career. That's really f...ed up to say that Em is racist. Y'all people outta be ashamed of yourselves!!! The man was young back then when he put that tape out. But anyway, overall, I think Encore had to be his best album since The Marshall Mathers LP. It may not be what he or some loyal fans may think, but I seriously think it's still a great CD. "Like Toy Soldiers" and "Spend Some Time" had to be two of the deepest songs I ever heard from Eminem. It reminds me of what I have to deal with in life right now. My least favorite of the album had to be "Crazy In Love". Song is just kinda aggravating, that's all. No offense, Em. But overall, I love to listen to this album on my spare time. For those who have something negative to say about the Encore cd, I really don't think y'all are true Eminem fans. Stop hatin' on the man and let him do his thing ya dig!!!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! 5 Star Review
2006-11-30 - Eminem is one of the best rappers of all time! I have everyone of his CD's and been to two of his concerts. The last tour with 50 cent was the best concert by far! If you are an Eminem fan then this album is for you! If you hate Eminem then no one cares about you and you are pretty much a waste of space...I am tired of reading negitive comments about him... he is great! If you don't like him then there is a good chance you are just jealous.

I will never spend a single dime on this racist 1 Star Review
2005-12-06 - There was a time when I was a fan Of Eminem. But once I realized about his racist past, things have changed. For those that don't know he made boat loads of racist tapes dissing blacks calling them the n word and calling them monkeys and saying that white people shouldn't date black women because they are inferior and a lot of other despicable things. And he wasn't 16 years old like he lied and said he was. The racist tapes went to court and all his old best friends and people who knew him when he was younger were summoned and all said he wasn't 16 but more like 20 years old. And that he never had a black girlfriend like he lied and said. Eminem was so scared he pulled out the court case admitting to all these facts. He's a coward, a racist, and a phony. I'm black and find the racist tapes and the way he tried to sweep them under the rug disgusting. When he came out he said he's never used the n word and that was all lies to gain popularity. When he got caught did he admit to what he did? No he tried to lie his way out making up fake stories that were proved to be lies in court. He is not a honorable man and as a emcee he's fallen off bad. I don't know if the black community will ever fully respect him again and he doesn't make things better for himself by constantly releasing corny gimmicky songs like "Just Lose Yourself" and "My Band". I downloaded this album because I refuse to let him make a cent off me. And it's by far his worst. He's run out of subject matter and hit rock bottom personally and musically. The Slim Shady I used to love died in 2002. I don't recommend you support this man.

This doesn't even deserve 2 stars 2 Star Review
2005-07-30 - Well, loads of people might oppose my decision just because it's worse than The Eminem Show. That was the greatest album of all time and Eminem was required to live up to the hype of that album since he is the so called "King Of Hip-Hop". He has run out of ideas and I don't blame him if he leaves after this s**t. GOOD CALL!

-01-CURTAINS UP (pointless and arrogant. NEXT!)
-02-EVIL DEEDS-2.5/5 (I dont know what is the huge buzz over this song, there arent even proper bars.)
-03-NEVER ENOUGH-4/5 (one of the only decent songs although its too short and bad quality)
-04-YELLOW BRICK ROAD-4/5 (IS TOO LONG!)
-05-LIKE TOY SOLDIERS-5/5 (Almost Em's old self. That's 50 Cent in the music video, by the way)
-06-MOSH-5/5 (his most controversial song probably)
-07-PUKE-2/5 (the album starts to suck by now)
-08-MY 1ST SINGLE-1/5 (this is NOT your first single dumb-a**)
-09-PAUL (WTF?)
-10-RAIN MAN-0/5 (This song is NOT funny. He could have used that beat to make a meaningful song. shameful.)
-11-BIG WEENIE-1.5/5 (also could have used this beat to make a meaningful song. third verse is kinda funny)
-12-EM CALLS PAUL (stupid skit)
-13-JUST LOSE IT-2/5 (the so-called hit single. this song and candy shop are ruining the rep of rap)
-14-ASS LIKE THAT-1.5/5 (another club song. 'nuff said)
-15-SPEND SOME TIME-minus5/5 (shut up already man. go bak to ur muthafu**in' old ways, not pop songs)
-16-MOCKINGBIRD-4/5 (em clears up things he never said before)
-17-CRAZY IN LOVE-2/5 (starts off good, then starts to crap up)
-18-ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT-4.5/5 (classic D12, u cant help but smile to see a small shimmer of light in the darkness of this album)
-19-FINAL THOUGHTS (intruiging... reminds u of when em started off with INFINITE)
-20-CURTAINS DOWN-4.5/5 (the hard-hitting bass woke me up from when i slept listening to this album and made me realize this is a good song)

i hope d12's next album will give em a chance to regroup from his downfall.
