Take Me as I Am Reviews:
The Debut That Started It Off For Faith!
2009-10-17 - Faith Hill started out more traditional country with her first 2 albums before crossing over to Pop/Country territory, which was a shame as this and her second album are her best work!
This album includes her classic hits Take Me As I Am,Wild One and Piece Of My Heart. All excellent, catchy uptempos.
Other gems include the duet with Larry Stewart I've Got This Friend and the lovely ballads Just About Now,Just Around The Eyes and I Would Be Stronger Than That(great lyrics to this song)
Produced by Scott Hendricks- her now ex boyfriend, since she went on to marry Tim McGraw. It's a great collection of traditional 90's country music, that I'm sure anyone will enjoy....
Faith Hill / Take Me as I Am
2008-03-09 - Classic Faith, one of her first Cd's, not her best, not her worst. I recommend this Cd.
Defining Debut
2007-07-05 - Take Me As I Am is a great debut album, a step along the way to superstardom. It introduced the world to her awesome voice. An excellent female country album. Almost all the songs are good. Here they are:
Take Me As I Am - fast and spirited title track
Wild ONe - high energy song about conflict between the generations
Just About Now - good slower tune
Piece of My Heart - uptempo remake
I've Got a Friend - duet. Each singer knows a single friend who could use someone
Life's Too Short - really cruises along, has a sharp edge to it.
Got the Distance - rock edge, confident attitude
JUST GREAT!
2007-06-06 - Faith's debut album is just great. I especially love "Take Me as I am", "Wild One", "Just about now", "Life's too short to live like that" and "Go the distance". Her "Piece of my heart" is wonderful. I think this one is probably Faith's best work ever. I listen to it at least once a day! It is just great!
Nice debut!
2005-01-16 - Faith Hill's debut album is a strong collection of songs. Of course her music has changed a lot from this debut, but it's all good. She has yet to make an album I did not like. This one is definately her most traditional country album. The album had a few hit singles, including "Wild One", "Take Me As I Am" and "Piece of My Heart". "But I Will" is a great ballad, but it only reached #35. There's other nice ballads like "Just Aout Now", "Just Around The Eyes" and "I Would Be Stronger Than That", and some uptempos. Overall a nice debut.
