The Dutchess Reviews:
Meh.
2009-01-12 - I got this because I loved all the songs she released off it. Unfortunately, those were the only good songs on the album. It was a great disappointment. Sometimes it the beat that's disappointing other times its the ridiculous lyrics. I don't recommend the whole album. Just get the songs you know you like.
Parents... Proceed With Care!
2008-10-18 - I downloaded this CD for my 11 year old daughter and thought I would be safe with the cleaned version, but even without the 'language' some of the CDs subject matter (primarily sex) is still not suitable for her age group. Granted, my daughter is probably too young to pick up on most of the innuendo or maybe I just want to think so and perhaps she hears all this from her friends at school anyway, but still it's not something I want to provide for her myself. I suppose the music itself is good as well as Fergie's singing. I shouldn't really offer an opinion on that though as it's not ordinarily the kind of music I would buy for myself. I'm sure it would be fine for a more mature age group. I would just advise parents to preview this before passing it on to the younger kiddies. A few alternatives I might suggest are Colbie Caillat, Sara Bareilles, Leona Lewis, Duffy or Natasha Bedingfield. I relaize they are not all squeaky clean and not all precisely the same kind of music, but they do seem to be popular among that age group. I hope this helps. Thanks.
i love this album but...
2008-06-14 - never thought i would say this but i wish i had gotten the "dirty version"
instead
some of the songs dont sound right
especially glamorous
take your broke broke home instead of broke a++ home
it did sound wrong
i normally dont mind clean versions
this time i did
i may get the dirty version just to hear it in its original context
overall its a great cd
Great CD and kid friendly version
2008-05-14 - This is a great CD. It's nice to have a CD that I enjoy and that is playable while the kids are around. The cleaner versions are great--it doesn't take away anything from the original album.
don't listen to the haters
2008-03-30 - lighten up haters!!! this cd is fun and upbeat. stop being so negative. try it on the treadmill. fergie is divalicious. she should make mariah want to retire!
