2000-10-25 - Forget the reviews you've been reading about this CD being too pricey. At $10.99, its a STEAL! My favorite track on 'When the Pawn' is 'Paper Bag', and she had the good sense to release it as a single. It has a jazzy feel to it, and is by far the most accomplished ballad she has sung until now.
What makes this particular CD stand out is that it contains the videos for 'Limp' and 'Fast as you can'. Both of these are excellent, and a real treat. Fiona's presence on video is unbelievable and simply mesmerising. But above it all, the music stands out. This is an essential recording by any standards, and a necessary addition to your Fiona Apple collection. Highly recommended.
An Underrated Singer/Songwriter
2000-09-03 - This song is so good, and the whole album is excellent. People really really have looked past Fiona Apple as a girl who just wines and is realy angry. She not that, not that at all.
