Editorial Review:
This 1980, 2 CD live set captures Fleetwood Mac at the height of its platinum popularity, performing such durable faves as "Don't Stop," "Dreams," "Say You Love Me," "Rhiannon," "Go Your Own Way," "Over My Head," "Monday Morning," and "Sara." The band's energetic performances put a fresh spin on the familiar material. Elsewhere, the band throws some ace curveballs with left-field oddities like Lindsey Buckingham's gritty blues workout on the early (Peter Green era) Mac tune "Oh Well" and a lilting, harmony-laden reading of The Beach Boys' "Farmer's Daughter." --Scott Schinder

Fleetwood Mac Live Reviews:
WHO KNEW FLEETWOOD MAC COULD ROCK? 4 Star Review
2009-11-22 - As a joke, I heard it said that everyone who moved to the suburbs received a copy of Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors". While it's generally accepted that they were a country-rock/soft rock outfit, this live document proves that they could rock raw and hard. This is Fleetwood Mac at their very loudest. The production is raw and surprisingly unpolished, but the music is furious. It's proven again that Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are the best rhythm section going. Stevie Nick's sex-kitten vocal purrings reveal real power. Not to be outdone, Lyndsey Buckingham's guitar soars to heights never heard before. About the only thing that would have made this package perfect would have been the additions of "The Chain", "Sisters of the Moon", and "Gold Dust Woman".

Since I wasn't there... 4 Star Review
2009-08-12 - ...due to not being born yet this is as good as it gets for me as far as hearing them live at the time.

Awesome Representation Of Classic Line-up... 5 Star Review
2009-03-03 - This album is worth every cent of the asking price. It's an excellent representation of one the 70's Greatest Bands. The renditions of Sara, Oh Well & I'm So Afraid are worth the price by themselves. I always wanted to compare the Peter Green version (Live At The Boston Tea Party, Vol II) over Lindsey's of "Oh Well" & wasn't disappointed - (wish this one was longer, but - "oh, well")! I actually preferred the live versions on this album over many of the studio versions we've all become accustomed to hearing. Lindsey Buckingham's vocals & in particular his guitar "picking" (I put that in quotes as he doesn't use a pick when he plays - as well as being completely "self-taught") are TOP-NOTCH. "Never Going Back Again" is more acoustic & has way more feeling than the studio version. My wife & I were fortunate enough to see Lindsey on his solo tour last summer & I got the honor to strum his custom Turner guitar - something I'll never forget, but I digress... Stevie's vocal's on "Sara" & "Landslide" make you want to cry, give me chills up my spine! Buy this album if you want to see what the Mac was like "back in the day". you won't be disappointed - & you can't beat the price! Sound quality = 4.5 / 5.0 - only because Christine McVie's microphone isn't loud enough on several tracks...

Caught them live in Honolulu 4 Star Review
2008-05-07 - I caught them on the way back from the Asia portion of the Tusk tour that was the basis for this live album in Mar 1979. Lindsay's performance on I'm So Afraid left me in awe in a way that has been hardly breached since. The performance on the album doesn't quite compare to live, but that is engineering and ambiance. It does capture the power and energy of the band at it's peak and in the raw, unlike the crisp productions in the studio.

BTW, I was also fortunate enough to catch Clapton on the Slowhand tour about the same timeframe. Dates are a blur, but the music resonates. Also Bob Marley, Blue Oyster Cult, and some other notables.
