Description of The Colour and the Shape:
A major criticism of the Foo Fighters' self-titled debut was its supposed lack of passion despite the well-crafted songs and well-crafted rock. This time out, if it's wreckage you want, it's wreckage you get. The Colour and the Shape grows deeper the more it's played, with the band's ripping power is more than matched by Dave Grohl's fascinating examinations of pain and divorce. There is even a convincing long slow ballad, "November Stars", whose intensity should win over doubters. If that doesn't work, then the screaming "My Hero" will.--Rickey Wright

The Colour and the Shape Reviews:
A very solid album 3 Star Review
2009-10-19 - The Foo Fighters are not the best band in the world. In fact, they don't even make the top 20 bands from the 90s in my opinion, BUT they do occasionally come up with some solid rock music that can get me through when I'm bored of listening to the "classics."
I haven't heard the last couple of Foo Fighters albums, but this is the best one I've listened to. Everlong is a really good song, and My Hero is another. If this was a tribute to Kurt Cobain, it was a pretty good one.

Decent 2 Star Review
2009-05-30 - Foo Fighters are all right, but the overall problem with them is blandness. How do you work with Kurt Cobain and churn out music so boring? Didn't Kurt play Dave any Sonic Youth albums? Not to mention the horrible sound quality.

Foo Fighters.......... 5 Star Review
2009-04-06 - Of course anything by Dave and the boys is fabulous.....
What more can I say?

Don't be fooled by the extras 3 Star Review
2009-03-24 - I thought this would provide some great extras songs, but was very disapointed by the extras, the quality is poor and the songs slow. Do your research and buy the original release, not this extended version.

I love the Foo Figthers, but this CD will give you a bad taste, do your research.
