Editorial Review:
Described as a thundering return to the band’s original hard rock sound, ‘Bleed Like Me’ features eleven tracks that return to the power and simplicity of their debut. The first single is the explosive ‘Why Do You Love Me’. Amongst the other highlights of the album are the dynamic opener ‘Bad Boyfriend’, a heavy out and out rock song featuring a guest appearance from Dave Grohl on drums. Aside from Grohl, the album also features an additional guest in the shape of Beck bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen. Japanese pressing of 2005 album scheduled to include one bonus track TBA. Wea.

Description of Bleed Like Me:
Despite making it through a difficult four-year stretch in which the band temporarily broke up, singer Shirley Manson left her husband, and new technologies made the sleek electro-rock sound of its first three albums feel passé, Garbage resurfaces in rude health on Bleed Like Me. Manson is still kickboxing the air and stomping the glitter under her heels, as she channels Debbie Harry and Chrissie Hynde on edgy glam-rock anthems like "Run Baby Run" and "Metal Heart." All the while three bookish producers in the background--including Butch Vig, who famously helmed Nirvana's Nevermind--turn up the sleazy machine-like rhythms. Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl sits in on the drums for the menacing "Bad Boyfriend," but it's the confessional title track Bleed Like Me"--part "Walk on the Wild Side," part therapy session for former cutter Manson--that shatters Garbage's image as the ultimate non-stick studio band. "You should see my scars," goes the chorus. And, for once, Manson is actually willing to reveal them. -- Aidin Vaziri

Bleed Like Me Reviews:
So, so. Their earlier records are better overall. 3 Star Review
2009-10-28 - The disc opens up with 2 typical Garbage songs ("Bad Boyfriend" and "Run Baby Run") that could have been on either of their first 2 discs. The band sounds great, like there's a little friendly friction and competition and they're playing off of and against each other. I will say that I think this is the best that Shirley's voice has ever sounded.

The next song, "Right Between The Eyes", could have easily found its way onto a Blackhearts record. Garbage has admittedly paid homage to several bands in the past by borrowing a sound, production or style and this disk is no exception. The title track takes a musical line from U2's Joshua Tree and lyrical structures from Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side". Again, Shirley's voice is dead on. The choir like harmonizing at the end of the song is hauntingly beautiful, especially in contrast to the dark subject of the song.

The next 4 songs start off sounding like a mix of their first 3 CDs and B-sides (Especially "Sex Is Not The Enemy") and each one becomes more of the same. "It's All Over But The Crying" does have some of the nicest piano I've heard on a Garbage record. "Boys Wanna Fight" and "Why Don't You Come Over" start to fizzle then "Happy Home" and "Why Do You Love Me" try to bring it back with some old rock riffs but it may be too little too late.

If It's Their Last Album, It's A Damn Good Finale!! 5 Star Review
2009-10-17 - Have long enjoyed Ms. Manson and the gang's music and this is hands down my favorite album, largely due to the wonderfully polished music and heavy guitar riffs! This album seems an edgier cousin to 2.0 and it sounds amazing blasting out of speakers, with the heavy reverb, bass and spectacular guitar work here! Since Shirley is dabbling in acting currently and having a seemingly smashing time trying something new, we may well have this as our last full and original Garbage effort. If it does turn out to be their elegy and swan song, what a damn fine piece of work it is!! Wishing Garbage all the very best! -- A Fan

Good stuff 5 Star Review
2009-10-15 - I orignally saw Garbage in the music video "Bleed Like Me." An old friend who was lead singer in a punk band in Canada used to complain about other bands and their sloppy guitar playing. When I heard Garbage's music again years later, through their Sound Stage performance, I was amazed at how good they were - and how hot Shirley Manson is still. This is the third album from them I've bought recently, and it's solid, consistently good, and deserves its reputation for being almost too professional in its musicianship for an "alternative" label to be applied. I sure hope they go on tour again!

As always Garbage delivers! 5 Star Review
2009-07-15 - Great CD. A must for any Garbage fan and if you don't know who Garbage is, where have you been?! Go get this album!!

A Great CD From Shirley Manson & the Guys !!!!!! 5 Star Review
2009-03-24 - There have already been many reviews on this one, so I'll just mention a few things. This is probably the best CD from Garbage. "It Rocks". It contains the hits: "Why do You Love Me", & "Bleed like Me". It contains a total of 11 songs. This is a very "up-beat", and "entergentic" cd. So if you like that kinda of rock, you should like this one. Thanks!!!!
