Editorial Review: Spoken word release. Speaking in Tongues Reviews: Unfortunetly, another poor showing 2009-09-30 - Since 2004 all four of the original KISS members have now come out with solo albums. I think all KISS fans have known since the '78 solo albums each individual members' personalities and music tastes. With that said, I was not expecting your typical KISS album here. Nor was I going to allow my views on Gene's ***hole album to cloud my experiencing this album. I have given the disc several tries through the past few weeks to see what I felt, to let it sink in. Unfortunately, I found this album lacking across the board, both lyrically and vocally. I think Gene tries so hard to be cutting edge and hip, that he runs himself over without even knowing it. Gene said recently ('09) that he and Paul were looking into bringing together the KISS Broadway Show that they had been planning on for the past 15 years. Gene, maybe you need to go back to your musical roots. You penned and sang some awesome songs in the past. Too bad it's been decades since then. Give us something at least good to listen to, not the slop that your too busy world gives us nowadays. Please!
Gene is awesome 2009-09-27 - Just a short review to mention that Gene's "Speaking in Tongues" was fantastic. He made the session enjoyable from start to finish.
Here we go again... 2008-11-21 - Greedbag douchebucket Gene is at it again, spewing his opinion around like so much vomit all over the collective consciousness. This man is so proud of himself it's almost hilarius. When he finally croaks out (if he ever does) I hope they remove the internal organs and stuff the cavity full of hundred dollar bills and put him on display somewhere. Maybe a KISS convention? His corpse could make money for him long after he's dead.
A breath of fresh air. 2004-10-21 - Gene Simmons speaks in reasonable, black and white terms. His pragmatisum is refreshing and often hilarious. He'll give you the truth straight, and sometimes the truth hurts and offends. But it IS the truth, none the less. Like "Simon" on American Idol, he doesn't lie or sugercoat. The disc is well worth the money and healthy food for thought. Sit down and eat.
The Idiocy Continues... 2004-10-08 - This is yet more proof (not that you really needed it) that Gene Simmons has turned into the biggest idiot alive. I'm quite sure he couldn't care less what I or anyone thinks of him since he has a mega-fortune to immerse himself in that he's raked in from sticking it to his fans, especially in the past several years when Kiss has ceased being a rock & roll band and has once again turned into a wealth-obsessed corporate entity.
I refuse to feed Simmons' huge ego and bank account by buying this piece of nihilistic, neanderthal schlock that he calls "being honest"; besides, it's nothing you haven't already heard him run off at the mouth about a million times before.
