Editorial Review: No Description Available. Genre: Horror Rating: PG13 Release Date: 3-MAY-2005 Media Type: DVD Great Horror Classics, Vol. 7 Reviews: A ghost, a cadaver, some zombies... and you 2008-04-28 - Transfer quality of ECHO BRIDGE 4 movie sets is quite good, although film stock is not always in the best of condition. A bargain price also makes these small collections attractive. All titles are contained on a single disc.
In the seventh edition of this terrifying series, a med student is afraid of dead bodies, a murdered man's ghost haunts his killers, Boris Karloff collects zombie slaves for his island plantation and the undead strike at night.
SYNOPSES for "Horror Classics V.7"--
THE GHOST-- A woman and her doctor boyfriend kill her elderly husband with an injection of poison. Their plans to enjoy the murdered man's wealth and estate are ruined when his ghost returns to haunt them. Nicely done Italio-Gothic fright film.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD-- Cult fave about a brother (Johnny) and sister (Barbara) who visit a rural Pennsylvania town to see their father's gravesite. While there, Johnny is attacked and killed by a cannibalistic zombie but Barbara manages to escape. She flees to a nearby farmhouse where a group of terrified people are hiding from the monsters. After dark, their supposedly safe haven is beseiged by an army of the undead. Director George Romero appears briefly as a Washington reporter.
RING OF TERROR-- In order to join a fraternity, a med school student with a fear of dead bodies must enter a mausoleum and remove a ring from a corpse's hand. This is when a planned prank by fraternity members goes terribly awry. Generally tedious movie takes too long to get interesting.
THE SNAKE PEOPLE-- Made-in-Mexico cheapie about an island-dwelling plantation owner and a pack of homicidal zombies. A police captain arrives to put an end to rampant lawlessness and clean up a drunken police force, and has to contend with zombies and the snake charming woman who runs a death cult. One of Boris Karloff's last films is also one of his weakest.
HORROR CLASSICS V.8 includes a vintage early 30s screamer, one of Vincent Price's 1950s movies and two more-recent ones.
