A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols Reviews:
Absolute must-have for the Christmas choral collection!
2007-12-11 - Having owned this CD for several years now, I've easily listened to it over a hundred times. Additionally, as an organist and choir director, I have gone to great lengths to purchase and perform several of the pieces with my groups, namely: Bring A Torch, Mid-Winter, My Dancing Day, Betelehemu, He Is Born, Do You Hear What I Hear?(hint: look for Oxford's OOP supplier), and Joy To The World.
I've recommended this recording to several people and all have echoed my sentiments, just as my choir members and congregants have thoroughly enjoyed the repertoire I've taken from it.
For those for whom only Handel "Messiah" or Bach "Christmas Oratorio" suffices as Christmas choral repertoire, this recording may not suffice: the program here is unquestionably slanted to modern repertoire. But, for my purposes, this has been the single most enjoyable and useful recording I own.
Sorry, but I just can't let this recording receive only one review of two-stars. You must listen for yourself!

2007-12-03 - It is great to be in a position to understand American English. The organ simply does not do justice to the program.
