Description of Appetite for Destruction:
A glimpse of the future, and not because of its huge influence and umpteen million sales. The poor-little-rich-boy protest "Out ta Get Me" intimates that Axl Rose's egotism and martyr complex were soon to grow bigger than his head; still, Appetite's night-train wreck of punk and metal sounds and sensibilities make it more than just an emblem of its time. Whether GN'R are dancing with Mr. Brownstone, penning a callow kiss-off letter to some chick named Michelle, or passing out on somebody else's sofa, this was and remains a savage journey to the heart of the American--or at least the Hollywood--dream. --Rickey Wright
Appetite for Destruction Reviews:
welcome to the jungle
2009-07-01 - this is one of the 3 best debut releases ever.GNR would never again have a release this tight. great debuts are hard to top.
the best rock album
2009-06-15 - This is the best rock album in any years. Magic happens when they record this album. Guns N roses has made in a year what it took a Led Zeppelin for the wholde decade. U think Im kidding? Of course I am...
But this is one classic album u cant ignore or deny.
..But if u buy Use Your Illusion because u think they will make another great album u wrong.
GNR Appetite for Destruction on Vinyl
2009-05-03 - I just picked up a brand new repress today on 180 gram vinyl and I have it on my turntable right now. With my Kenwood direct drive KD-2070 and audio technia cartridge man it sounds great. Warmer and smoother than the CD; I have both.
Not to mention the memories of the first time I listened to this album at a friends. The first time I heard it we listened to it on a boom box on cassette. I remember about halfway through listening to Welcome to the Jungle the batteries went dead. I ran home and grabbed a few fresh ones out of my dresser. Then we completed our very first listen. This album is timeless and I hold it to the same standards as a Beatles or Zeppelin record.
If you are a big fan of this album the vinyl re-release leaves no disappoints and serves to be a great memory machine. 22 years later it rocks just as hard as the first time I listened to it.
Axl rocks!
2009-04-28 - Wow, I got this album a little over a month ago and I've listened to it at least four times every day since then, and probably will for the next couple years. Yeah, I should probably get a life, but it's SUCH an awesome album! I'm used to skipping half the songs on any cd I get, but on this one every song was unique and Axl's vocals are amazing. I think everyone should listen to this album, 'cause it's definitely an experience you won't want to miss.
Great album and great quality
2009-04-28 - This record can now be considered a classic and every rock fan should have it.
The overall quality of the product is great and the sound is perfect.
