Description of B.A.P.S.:
What was director Robert Townsend thinking? His movies, such as The Five Heartbeats and The Hollywood Shuffle, are sweet, enjoyable little pictures. But this "comedy" about two flashy Georgia women hoping to find money and men in Los Angeles is stereotypical, unfunny, embarrassing, and boring. Halle Berry and newcomer Natalie Desselle are trapped in pitiful roles playing against the distinguished but miscast Martin Landau and a wasted Ian Richardson. B.A.P.S., by the way, stands for black American princesses. There are better urban comedies out there, the badly named Booty Call for one. --Rochelle O'Gorman

2009-01-29 - This is one of my favorite movies!!!! The hair, the lingo, the attitude everything is just great! The acting is superb! Halle looks absolutely divine (even w/ Gold Teeth LOL!) To all those that don't like this film and are talking about bad stereotypes, I would advise them to come off of their high horse and look at the movie for what it really is....A MOVIE!!! This movie is meant to entertain not to give you the biography of black and white people... ITS GREAT and if you're having a bad day...watch this and you'll be sure to feel 100% better (YEEEEE-UUUUUUHHHH!!!! LOL!)

2008-04-15 - Came in excellent condition as promoted on the website. Also arrived well within the specified time. Would not hesitate to purchase another DVD thru Amazon. BAPS is a very funny, sweet DVD about friendship and dreams. All the actors do a wonderful job and Halle Berry is hilarious.
This is the best movie of comedy, love and dreams coming true
2008-03-30 - Sure a lot of people would think that this movie is silly, but if you look between the scenes it is filled with what I believe is great acting on Halle Berry and Martin Landau's part. It shows comedy that I think is hillarious. Betrayal, honesty, love and care.
I have always loved this movie and always will. I always cry in the scene when Mr. Blakemore dies. But then the tears are replaced quickly with laughter and happiness.
I cam watch it every week.
If you really like Halle Berry and her acting expertise, then you will love this one.
