    Columbia Pictures Perfect Stranger (Blu-ray)
When her friend's affair with married ad exec Harrison Hill (Bruce Willis) ends in the woman's murder, investigative reporter Rowena Price (Academy Award(R) winner Halle Berry; Best Actress, "Monster's Ball," 2001) vows to bring the killer to justice. Suspecting Hill ofthe crime, she goes undercover by posing as two highly alluring women: Katherine, a sexy temp who works within his agency, and Veronica, a seductive temptress he chats up online. Engaging in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse, both Rowena and Hill begin to realize things may not be what they seem. For some people will go to great lengths to protecttheir secrets, even if it means risking everything.

    Description of Perfect Stranger [Blu-ray]:
Perfect Stranger is saved from conventional starlet-in-distress mediocrity by a certain refreshing unwholesomeness, a tawdry strain that runs all the way through its climactic series of kickers. Halle Berry plays a "gotcha" reporter, currently undercover to nail a famous advertising tycoon (Bruce Willis)--not for a story, but because Berry thinks he might be involved in a friend's murder. The distasteful nature of Berry trying to seduce the married exec adds some spice, and so does her pervy assistant (Giovanni Ribisi), whose voyeuristic tendencies indicate more than customary comic relief--at the least, he's a hefty red herring. There are other red herrings, mostly beginning to smell, in the rather ramshackle script. Director James Foley, who has a talent for hothouse intensity (Glengarry Glen Ross, At Close Range) gives this material more edge than it probably deserves, although he can't make Berry convincing, and she and Ribisi are completely wrong as simpatico best friends. Willis looks good by comparison, turning a one-note role into a subtle act of professionalism. --Robert Horton

    Perfect Stranger [Blu-ray] Reviews:
    Perfect Stranger 3 Star Review
2008-09-17 - This movie at first was
starting to evaluate the stars, afterwards the rest
    of movie was thrilling and
    suspenseful.
    Halle Berry
    very good actress.

Great little movie with a very well hidden twist for the end! 4 Star Review
2008-09-13 - I know some people here have said how bad this is and I was surprised to read that - as I've just seen it on the small screen and I found it a great little movie. The clues to the ending were there but it still pulled off a spectacularly surprising ending, almost like the ending and the beginning were the real plot and the middle was a sub-plot; this statement makes sense if you watch the movire.

I thought all the actors, not just the leads, were great and gave good, solid, competent performances. As with most 'thrillers' there were a few red herrings along the way but boy what an ending, you will not believe who the murderer is (even though as I say, the clues are there from the beginning).

Sorry not to agree with the people who don't rate this but I did, it was a well written movie, well acted and directed, so well done to all concerned, I for one, enjoyed it.

    Goes nowhere 1 Star Review
2008-08-26 - Could have been good, with a little imagination. No suspense. Dull. Ending was lame.

    GREAT! 5 Star Review
2008-08-23 - The product came to my residence in a timely fashion, and played of EXCELLENT quality.

A REAL SURPRISE! 4 Star Review
2008-07-31 - I did not see this film when it came out in theatres, but wanted to see it. I bought the DVD from amazon and just finished watching it. A big surprise! No one does Slick Rick like Bruce Willis. You simply cannot keep your eyes off him when he's on the screen. For once he isn't playing shoot 'em up, blow 'em up. He's cool, suave, amusing, and this character is tailor made for him. He is very believable as the CEO of a major NYC ad agency. His offices are gorgeous. The photography and the color is really wonderful. The story line is a shocker. You just NEVER know what you're going to run into around the corner. Halle Berry is just magnificent. She always is. She and Bruce really click. Ribisi is, as always, a miracle. This guy is such a stupendous actor, I can't believe he isn't in the Top 5. It's a mystery, not a mystery. It's a quest but not a quest for the truth. The last ten minutes of the film just send your head reeling. You're just not ready for the truth. An excellent film from start to finish. I highly recommend this film.
