The 1990s have been rough on Bocephus. Eclipsed by Nashville's youth movement (and his own stumbles into self-parody), his chart presence has waned. In 1999, at age 50 and two years after his last album, he emerges unrepentant. As always, roaring guitars punctuate the customary barroom macho of "I'd Love to Knock the Hell Out of You," "Naked Women and Beer," and "Southern Thunder." Fans of sing-alongs will find "Where Would We Be Without Yankees" and, in a nod to TV, "Hank Hill Is the King." Yet all is not business as usual. "They All Want to Go Wild (And I Want to Go Home)" and "Sometimes I Feel Like Joe Montana," pensive (for Hank Jr.) explorations of aging, reflect a different--and ultimately more authentic--macho. Maturity also triumphs on the magnificent, classic country ballad "All Jokes Aside," the saga song "Gibbonsville Gold," and the dark, tense "I Like It When It's Stormy." Fashionable? Hardly, but amid Music Row's unending streams of generically engineered, radio-friendly fluff, it's positively refreshing. --Rich Kienzle

More garbage from a once great singer/songwriter 
2004-04-04 - While I have been fortunate enough not to have spent money on this recording, I have had the opportunity to listen to most of it. Complete nonsense from a once great singer songwriter. The song "Naked Women and Beer" is just plain stupid. Lame lyrics and overproduced screaming guitar work. It's truly hard for me to believe that this horrendous recording came from the same man who made so many brilliant records such as Hank Williams Jr. and Friends, High Notes, Rowdy, Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, The New South and Habits Old and New. Why a 50+ year old man feels compelled to churn out garbage like "Stormy" is beyond me. It appears as though Hank wants to appeal to the 20 year old crowd by acting like one himself and writing songs for people with an I.Q. well below 70. It pains me to write this review as Hank Jr. was my absolute favorite for so many years. I would wholeheartedly recommend buying any of the above referenced recordings if you want to know what Hank Jr. was really all about.
Hank's best in over 10 years, (without question), 
2001-07-22 - I have been a huge Bocephus fan for almost 3 decades. I have seen him in more than 10 concerts. I've even met him and shook his hand. I LOVE HIS MUSIC. This is the best album he has come out with in over 10 years. I haven't liked much of anything he's done in the past 10 or so years, (sorry to say). Stormy has got the usual rowdy stuff, his humorous songs, the slow country stuff and the hard southern rock style that he does so well. He is one of the best singer song writers in the business. This album has it all for the true Bocephus fan. It is Hank at his best. If you love great foot stompin' hell raisin' Hank Jr. then get Stormy, you won't be sorry!
Hank is still the king
2001-01-11 - Man this is a great CD and while i had listned to him for years this was my first CD i bought (but far far from the last) and any hank fan should go get it because there is no bad song here some not as good as others but all good.
Hank is awesome, but Stormy wasn't quite his best 
2000-06-17 - I am the biggest Hank, Jr. fan ever, but I was slightly disappointed with Stormy. First off, I really don't care for "Where Would We Be Without Yankees." It doesn't agree with his whole "If The South Woulda Won" attitude. "Hank Hill Is The King" also disappointed me, it is most definately one of his worst songs. However, I REALLY love "All Jokes Aside," and I will always remain a loyal Bocephus fan. He is the GREATEST!
Awesome:Get It Now
2000-05-21 - I just bought it at the store.I love this CD. Some of my favs are:I'd Like to knock the hell out of You,Naked Women and Beer, I Like it When It's Stormy and Southern Thunder. The Hank Hill song is terrible but the rest of the cd is awesome. I wish radio stations would have the balls to play it. I would reccommend this cd to all Hank Jr. fans and outlaws of country music.
