  • Editorial Review:
Sister Act - Relive all the fun, laughter, and irresistible music of SISTER ACT -- the inspired comedy hit that packed pews everywhere! Whoopi Goldberg stars as a sassy, low-rent lounge singer forced to hide out from the mob in the last place on earth anyone would look for her -- a convent. While she's there, her irreverent behavior attracts a flock of faithful followers and turns the nuns' tone-deaf choir into a soulful chorus of swingin', singin' sisters. But when the group earns rave reviews, her sudden celebrity jeopardizes her hidden identity. Harvey Keitel and Kathy Najimy join a heavenly cast in this habit-forming comedy bursting with '60s Motown hits. Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit - English/French DVD- Everybody's favorite nun is back in the habit as Academy Award(R)-winner Whoopi Goldberg (Best Supporting Actress, 1990, GHOST) stirs up more laughs than ever before! This time, Whoopi goes undercover as Sister Mary Clarence at a troubled inner-city school. Equipped with a melody-marching lesson plan, she brings the gift of laughter, the power of music, and a touch of heavenly inspiration to the classroom -- before the streetwise students discover who she really is! Experience the joys of higher education with this crowd-pleasing favorite as Whoopi answers her calling once again and delivers her special brand of habit-forming fun!

Two of the Best Films for Foster Children (And Adults)! 5 Star Review
2006-04-13 - Personally, I love these films. They're filled with talented, incredibly funny women who are clearly having a good time. Kathy Najimy, Mary Wickes, Maggie Smith...AND Whoopi Goldberg? What an incredibly deep ensemble! It almost seems too good to be true!

It just gets better with Sister Act 2, and one of the best parts of that film is that it's easy for a viewer to forget it's a movie and get caught up rooting for the young musicians and their incredible music.

These films have power. They touch people spiritually in a deeply positive, loving way. The message is clear and simple: "If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somwhere, you've got to wake up and pay attention!" And, never stop believing in yourself, add a little faith and a whole lot of creative humor!

Years ago I watched my temporary foster son, while recovering from incredible abuse, relax and smile while watching these films. Later, he invited several friends over and made them watch too. It was a magical thing that I can't fully explain, but it was about heart. (His other favorite film was Howard the Duck, by the way).

Thank you ladies, for the incredible gift of these two films.
I'm sure many of us feel eternally grateful!

Sister Act/ Sister Act 2 5 Star Review
2003-07-20 - These films are incredible; all inclusive action, music, soul and thoughts of those of differed race, culture and age, whom have a rough journey to get to stardom. Thanks to faith the characters are able to be themselves, therefore, a choir is ensembled within the downhill juniour high. Nevertheless, it is not all happy smiles. There are moments of deepness. The film is dramatised by anti/climaxes and be ready to experience the unexpected! Whoopi Goldberg's presence in the film as Sister Mary Clarence entertains the audience with laughter and the chance to say: 'What the heck? I'm gonna sing my heart out till I drop!' During the entire movie, unsuspecting youth characters are introduced. They have been blessed with out standing voices, so that they will leave you in complete awe. Even in the credits they don't take a second to breathe!
I have come to a conclusion that if you like film that leave you speechless, energised and with a burning desire to sing, you will love these movies! Sister Act 1 and 2.

    Sister Act/Sister Act 2 4 Star Review
2001-09-19 - What can I say... Two great movies in one packet. These movies truelly show off Whoopi's comedy talents and wraps it up with a great feelgood movie. The supporting cast make the movie... And the soundtrack is to die for. My suggestion - BUY IT!!
