Editorial Review:
Even when Hilary Duff is at her most un-Lizzie McGuire-like, it's impossible not to like her, as she proves on this reinvention-themed, girl-grows-up album. Free her from the constraints of the teen-queen slumber party scene and she'll crank up the guitars and "Fly," as she does on the feel-good first single; give her a minute to reflect on life as a multi-hyphenate (in her case TV princess-movie star-pop goddess) and she'll come clean with "Underneath This Smile," an introspective winner not lacking--and yet not reaching--for sunshine, or "Who's That Girl," an unapologetic embrace of self-contradiction. Songwriters Diane Warren ("I Am") and Charlie Midnight, whose contributions to Duff's last album don't seem so yesterday as yet, pitch in, as does Hilary's star-in-her-own-right sister Haylie (the boyfriend-blasting "Mr. James Dean"). If there's evidence of the mixed-up lovable kook millions of teens once modeled themselves after here, it is only in the title: Hilary Duff may be the follow-up to the 5 million-selling Metamorphosis, but the real metamorphosis for Miss Duff takes place here. --Tammy La Gorce

Metamorphisis Was Better, But This Ones Good... 3 Star Review
2008-07-30 - I loved the first cd, it had a mixter of everything, This one's has a few good songs, except Fly could not be heared. But Some of it was very good. I loved The Getaway, and Jericho, snd s couple of others. I do see how she's growing up here on this album. Keep Up The Good Work....

Definatly her best. 5 Star Review
2007-12-13 - OK, so when this album was first releasd I was Hilary Duff obsessesd. Now I've gotten over that but I still won't pass up a chance to listen to her (especially this album). It starts out with the very insperational first single "Fly". This is one of my favorite songs on the album because it makes me feel I'm unstoppable. "Do Ya Want Me?" is a very cute pop song, although most of this album is more rock influinced. "Weird" is well... weird, but I love it. It's kind of random, and short (2nd shortest on the album @ 2:56) but I'm glad that it's on the album. "Hide Away" isn't my favorite, neither is "Mr. James Dean". "Underneath This Smile" is a very cool song... but "Dangerous To Know" is Hilary Duff's best song ever. That would have made an awesome music video. Hilary also shines in "Who's That Girl" which, according to her, is about her personal life meeting her fame life. "Shine" is a forgetful track. "I Am" is another star track. Very insperational. "The Getaway" is my third favorite track. It's about an on and off realtionship. "Cry" is good, but it gets kind of boring after a while, same with "Haters". "Rock This World" is a nice rock tune. Another highlight: "Someone's Watching Over Me", a fantistic song (that just happens to be my second fave on the album) about a lost loved one. (It makes since if you've ever seen "Rasie Your Voice", one of Hilary's movies). Also in that movie is "Jericho", which is a nice pop song approitly placed right after "Someone's Watching Over Me". The Last Song on the CD (apptly titled "The Last Song") is just a boring outro. (Pretty much a new "Inner Strength" from her "Metamorphsis" album). But anyway buy the album.
My favorites: Fly, Do Ya Want Me, Weird, Dangerous to Know, Who's That Girl, I Am, The Getaway, Rock This World, Someone's Watching Over Me, Jericho.
