These Are Great Films!
2009-07-11 - I had a yen for watching Bogie this summer and this set fit the bill! I have seen all the films many times during my life, but I found myself missing the days when they were readily available on local television. It was common with people of all ages to know who Bogart was and who had seen his movies though Bogart himself was long gone. It's great to see well made films again! Most people will know Casablanca which is still well known, but The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a classic in its own right and has been forgotten in the last few years. Other films which used to be Saturday afternoon movie fodder are They Drive By Night and High Sierra, a tear jerker which always left me in tears. Every movie in this collection is highly recommended. Casablanca and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre reach that higher plane of greatness.

2009-04-19 - I also should state that I purchased this collection under the used & new link and got it brand new for $20. amazon should get its prices to match the vendors a little better for this set. But otherwise this is a great collection. Casablanca and The Treasure of The Sierra Madre both come in the special collectors boxes and They Drive by Night, High Sierra come in thin cases. Great transfers the picture qualtiy is great. I am hoping that they will release a massive Bogart collection on blu ray combining all of the signature releases. Buy this set along with the rest it will provide you with hours of Bogie entertainment!

2009-01-14 - I should mention I bought this from the "New and Used" link getting it brand new for 20 dollars.

This set contains four movies
High Sierra (1941)
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
They Drive By Night (1940)
Casablanca (1942)

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is the same as the one provided in the link, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (Two-Disc Special Edition) This is a 20 dollar value.

Casablanca is the same as the one provided in the link, Casablanca (Two-Disc Special Edition) Another 20 dollar value.

Both High Sierra and They Drive by Night are in the thin DVD cases, not the full size that are the norm.

High Sierra is one of Bogie's first leading roles. This film along with The Maltese Falcon made Bogie a star. It is also the last film in which he does not have top billing.

He is in a supporting roll in They Drive by Night. For those thinking that Bogie has a major roll in this film do not be mislead. His roll is a supporting roll with his screen time diminishing as they film progresses. However this film will give you a glimpse of George Raft and Ida Lupino acting skills.

This set is worth it even if you only want to own Treasure and Casablanca, with two other Bogie films included.

2008-10-19 - The movies are exactly as described. Not sure if it was worth the price I paid though. I was hoping that there was a feature on the dvds to allow it to be either black and white or color , but there wasn't. Only in black and white. I saw them in color on tcm once, I thought it was great. Not sure where to find them though. The treasure of the sierra madre is one of my all time favorites. The main reason I bought the set.

Great Box Set
2008-07-07 - The best about Warner box sets is that each movie comes in its own individual case rather then clumsy custom cases which hold multiple DVDs. This is equivalent to buying each title separately but with a discounted price. This is one box set which contains 4 great movies. Keep the good work Warner Bros!
