Editorial Review:
First single taken from the 2004 album 'A Crow Left Of The Murder'. The title track is backed with two non-LP tracks 'Monuments & Melodies' & 'Pistola', the latter recorded during the band's appearance on the 2003 Lollapalooza tour! Epic/Immortal.
Megalomaniac Reviews:
Incubus Monuments and Melodies
2006-11-21 - This song is by far the most amazing and tottally describes how I am feeling at the moment. Please take this time to listen to it and sit back and relax
Great single, best off of A CROW LEFT OF THE MURDER
2004-11-11 - Incubus has to be the only talented mainstream band out there, or at least one of them (Green Day and Velvet Revolver are good) and this single proves that. This is for the hardcore Incubus fan that would buy anything from them, and although I am not a die-hard my friend is and I heard these songs (off the single) at his house. Fortunately its available now, so I am most likely going to buy it, I already have A CROW LEFT OF THE MURDER anyway. These songs are great and are recommended for the die-hard Incubus fan.
Incubus' massive hit, with two gems included.
2004-04-20 - "Megalomaniac," the first single from Incubus' fifth album 'A Crow Left Of The Murder' is getting the band quite a bit of attention. With a controversial video being allowed airtime on MTV only in the wee hours of the night, and subject matter allegedly attacking the Bush administration (although you'll find the song itself is meant to be faceless), Incubus have tapped into a new artistic vein once again and scored yet another hit. For those Incubus fans who loved 'A Crow Left Of The Murder' and need more to quench their thirst, this single will do just fine. The b-side "Monuments & Melodies" is one of the best songs to come out of the sessions for the most recent album. It's a little lighter than what did make the cut, but Brandon's sensitive side comes through, delivering a ballad in the vein of "I Miss You" or "Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song)." Even though the mix on it is a little rough, it's still a classic Incubus song. The live version of "Pistola," taken from the Lollapalooza tour, is much better than any of the recordings floating around the internet. The sound quality is crisp and clear and the performance itself sounds as good as the album version. Unfortunately, there is no enhanced portion, but that can be forgiven because the material on the single is satisfying enough. If you love all things Incubus, I recommend this.
