Editorial Review:
We've gone behind the scenes to find out the story of four school friends from Calabassas California who got together in 10th grade and founded Incubus with Gavin Koppel aka DJ Lyfe. Together they first set out on the hard road to fame and toured until they dropped with the likes of Korn and 311. DJ Lyfe was replaced by DJ Kilmore who we find out is continuing his musical journey. We find out about the studio mayhem of creativity that floods across the album tracks and what makes the band tick on and off the stage. Talking exclusively to key people in the band's success we have a real story to tell. Containing never-before-seen footage this is a must for anyone into this cool bunch of musos.System Requirements:Running Time - 48 minutesFormat: DVD AUDIO Genre: MUSIC DVD/CONCERTS Rating: NR UPC: 692865505020 Manufacturer No: T-5050
Fear the Groove Reviews:
Is No Stars Possible???
2007-11-20 - WARNING! TO ALL REAL INCUBUS FANS, DON'T WASTE A PENNY ON THIS DVD.
Now after that being said, this was literally the worst DVD I have ever seen. There is no credibility in the statements or anything in this DVD. Mostly opinionated and horribly constructed. Please please please do not purchase this, I will be happy to GIVE YOU MINE. The sad thing is, I neglected to read the reviews prior to purchasing. I just wanted to get every Incubus DVD I could get my hands on, but this is going in the trash.
SUMMARY OF DVD: Total of around 10 people giving there opinions on the band and some caucasian fellow who gives his feedback and an attempt at their background. Sorry, but it is UNAUTHORIZED for a reason. I would compare it to a crappy movie made from your basic Movie Creator that comes with Hewlitt Packard PCs and some iffy sketches thrown together in the format of a slide show.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! IF ANYONE ELSE WASTES MONEY ON THIS, I PITY YOU.
Note to the creator(s): GET A LIFE! This sucked!!!
Wait...I paid money for this?
2005-01-02 - I read all of the trash talked on this video, but I refused to believe something that carried Incubus' name would be this horrible. Although I only paid 49 cents for this, I still feel ripped off. Everything about this was a slap in the face to any Incubus fan.
One reason why this sucked so much was because everything seemed forced, nothing just flowed, it was an extremely rough transition into each chapter. The "narrator" of this was especially annoying. He had a habit of frowning after every 9 or 10 words, and it also seemed like he would fit cuss words in just to sound cool. The self-proclaimed "fans" even sounded phony. Everything that comes out of their mouths sounds exactly like every biography of the band you have ever read on the internet. The guy was the most annoying though. He was one of those people who try to say little one-liners just to be funny, when in all actuality they are the furthest thing from it. He tries to make himself out to sound like he's been an Incubus fan since the get-go. The absolute worst part in this video has to be towards the end of the film where he has an acoustic guitar and he's trying his hardest to be cool and play an Incubus song. The girl is also aggrivating. She tries to sound like an expert on all things Incubus. The interviews containing people involved with the record industries were such bull, they just stated the obvious in every situation. And finally, the interview with DJ 1987, formerly DJ Lyfe off of the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. CD. There is no use whatsoever for this interview. All he did was talk about rap and his early days. Word of advice-NO ONE CARES.
All in all, listen to the reviewers before me, steer as clear from this as you can. There is no reason for this video to have ever been made. I took it as an insult and you probably will too. If you do, however, wish to see this, be prepared to be offended and have a good laugh, because all of the interviews are complete hogwash, and the quality of this video is as crappy as you can get.
Don't Buy It
2003-12-08 - This dvd sucks. I agree with all of these one star reviews. I bought it a year or so ago and have since then decided never to buy unauthorized dvds again as well as gotten a lot smarter with my purchases. I do however recommend any of the other two official Incubus dvds out there - when incubus attacks vol.1 and morning view...Great dvds.
This is NOT Incubus
2003-01-20 - Ok, Incubus RULES!!!... But this DVD has almost nothing to do with the actual band. Over 3/4 of the DVD is people's opinion of the band, and then the interview with DJ 1987... Don't buy this DVD, for the love of God, DON'T!!! Everything that is halfway good on this DVD is information that you could get from anywhere! Don't waste your money on this...
BUMMER!!!
2002-10-12 - i absolutely agree with everything *A viewer from Cambridge* said... this DVD is a total waste of money... at first i saw it on a store and thought it could be a rare limited release, but its true... the first screen says that theres no incubus songs nor live presentations, nor interviews, nor NOTHING AT ALL!!! its just a stupid [mean name] speakin about things all of us already know... But the worst about this [mean name]is that he does the presentation as if Incubus was something boring to talk about, or as if what Incubus did was somehting any wannabe could have done, and thats what [set] me off mostly... WASTE OF MONEY, kids!!!
