Description of Cousins:
Director Joel Schumacher (Falling Down, Batman and Robin) helms this 1989 remake of the popular French romantic comedy Cousin, Cousine. Ted Danson (Three Men and a Baby) and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet) play two people married to distant cousins (Sean Young, William Petersen) who are having an affair. After meeting at a family wedding and being left alone while their mates steal away, the two spouses commiserate about their cheating partners, and they eventually find themselves falling in love and hiding their burgeoning relationship from the people they care about the most. five stars, but the original French version deserves six. 
2008-06-15 - I'll just echo the other reviews here that give this film high marks. I don't think I can add anything to those comments. However, I would like to put in a plug for the original French version of this movie "Cousin, Cousine", which I saw in the theatre in the mid-70's. As good as this remake is - and the fact that Hollywood did such a good job on it is amazing in itself - the original was still better. I just wish that it was also available on dvd.
