  • Editorial Review:
One might reasonably expect Tomcats to be the Porky's of 2001: after all, it concerns a group of young, sexist morons and their fears and fantasies about young women. But Tomcats isn't quite as brain-dead as that, though it is phenomenally more neurotic. Jerry O'Connell plays one of two remaining bachelors within a group of wealthy pals who set aside a cash reward, years before, earmarked for the last among them to get married. O'Connell needs the money to pay off a gambling debt, but his problem is that the other bachelor is a horrendous pig (Jake Busey) unlikely ever to land a gal. A general mean-spiritedness flows through this wearying comedy, manifest in such ugly moments as watching someone's girlfriend run over by a golf cart and an excised, cancerous testicle kicked around hospital hallways. If you're looking for female flesh, however, forget it: Tomcats is far more driven to explore male nudity, while making equally naked today's masculine fears of impotence, mothers, and lesbians. --Tom Keogh

    Tomcats Reviews:
this is a great movie 5 Star Review
2007-04-29 - i love this movie and so does my husband.it is totally a guy movie and also a chick movie there is stuff for both.it has romance and over the top humor.WHO SAIS WE CANT HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?

Was I supposed to laugh in this? 1 Star Review
2007-03-26 - I seriously did not laugh once in this movie. Horatio Sanz got me to crack a smile a couple times, but I can't believe I think he should have been in the movie more. I thought Saturday Night Live was bad, I had no idea! SNL is gold compared to this. Every single joke falls flat and the director obviously has no clue how to make a movie. I can't even tell if Jerry O'Connel and Jake Busey are bad actors because the director doesn't even give them a chance. I think one thing that could have really helped this movie out would have been a script. In case the director reads this review I want to tell him you need to have a script BEFORE shooting a film. Just a tip.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen, easily.

    0/5

Its not supposed to be taken seriously 5 Star Review
2005-06-30 - This movie is funny is hell. Three little words-omg i was dying. Anyone know what song is playing when O'connel is in the car and he starts bumping it? It sounds like Rage but im not sure.

The greatness of Dakota Fanning 5 Star Review
2005-01-16 - This film is notable only for one reason-the film debut of soon-to-be overlord of the human race, Dakota Fanning. Her brilliant mastery of dialogue, pacing and screen technique (even as "six-year-old girl in park") makes one see why when this sordid cesspool we call Earth eventually heaves up its bowels in a churning mass of humanity, Dakota will be the one who rescues us all from mediocrity, imbecility, and guys named "Bob", who attempt to hit on women who are WAY too young for them, and get shot down as a result. UltraLord has spoken!

Tomcats: Brilliance Below the Imbecility. 5 Star Review
2004-11-17 - While ostensibly the worst movie of the 21st century, this paean to masculinity has pushed the feminist movement up by 30 years. How? By exulting in the lowest common denominator of male attributes. Imbecilic jokes abound to entertaining the male masses who must make up the majority of this film's viewers. However, below the surface is brilliance, undercovered only by a select group of cinematic geniuses.
To the select few, this film is actually a stark examination of depravity: we are asked to observe B-grade actors be pushed increasingly lower into the depths. We explore what is NOT on the screen, such as the awkward human feeling behind the scenes. One can only imagine the director yelling "Tomcats, Scene 5, Act 4! ACTION!," as Horatio Sanz is asked for the fourteenth time to tell a (...) joke.
Thus, if you want to see phallus jokes and dispense high-fives, watch the film. If you want to see a brilliant dissertation of human depravity, check it out.
