Editorial Review:
Walk With Me is the third album by British R&B singer Jamelia. She states that this album is more experimental than her previous work, and that she is slightly moving away from the R&B sound that she is known for. This album blends R&B, Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, Dance, and even Classical music into one amazing collection. Includes the single ''Something About You', 'Beware of the Dog', which features a sample of Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus', 'No More', which is based around a sample of The Stranglers single from 1982, 'Golden Brown' and 'Do Me Right', a collaboration with hip-hop pioneer artist Afrika Bambaataa. Parlophone Records. 2006.
Walk With Me Reviews:
Some Good Stuff Here
2007-03-06 - I've never been a Jamelia fan. I have always thought her music was boring, and although this CD does not fully change my mind, I do like her a bit more now. "Beware Of The Dog" has one of the best samples I have ever heard. She takes Depeche Mode's "My Personal Jesus" and turns it into the dance track of the year. "window Shopper" is also a great song. Some songs don't work well on the other hand, which is normal for most artists. This is a pretty good CD tho...
The Key Tracks are: Beware Of The Dog, Window Shopper, and Do Me Right.
Jamelia.....Walk With Me.... Smokin' Hot British R&B singer!!!! ...10 stars
2007-02-18 - I am a white male(straight male...get over it ok)from the U.S. and just recently came across this beautiful/awesome R&B singer Jamelia from the U.K. Immediately from the beginning of Something About You I was like WOW and I mean WOW!!! This woman is incredible, has awesome vocals and EVERY SONG on Walk With Me is SUPERIOR....bottomline.Jamelia's Walk With Me is a "TOTAL FEEL GOOD" album and it flows so nicely!!!! This album incorporates different musically styles of R&B,Rock,Pop,Dance, and Hip-Hop proudly! In my opinion she is the ABSOLUTE BEST FEMALE SINGER I have heard in a long time. Jamelia is not only VERY attractive and compared to the likes of Brittney Spears,Jessica Simpson,Christina Aguilera, and others too....Jamelia is THE BEST!!!NO COMPARISONS!!!
Jamelia hopefully/will be noticed more, because she TOTALLY deserves so....no question. I STRONGLY recommend Jamelia....HONESTLY!! You WILL NOT be dissappointed!!! Get Walk With Me and find out MORE from this BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED Black female artist(HOT). Jamelia's full name is Jamelia Niela Davis from England.
Rihanna + Pussycat Dolls + Beyonce + Mary J Blige = JAMELIA!
2006-12-10 - Jamelia's third album is possibly one of the best pop albums of 2006. She takes the best of international acts like Rihanna, Mary J Blige, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls and even a little Kelly Clarkson and creates an album that is all killer and no filler. Don't get me wrong, Jamelia is no copycat. She is simply a very smart girl who has done her homework. The first single, "Something About You" has a very nice soft rock/pop sound. It doesn't represent the overall album well, but it still a catchy song. The second track will blow you away. "Do Me Right" infuses middle eastern sounds with sassy lyrics that leaves PCD's "Buttons" in the dust! "Go" is one of those slow jams that mixes old school with the new school RnB. On "Beware of The Dog" Jamelia boldly samples Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". To sample such an anthemic song is a bit risky but Jamelia pulls it off and makes the song hers! Listen closely and you will even hear her make a reference to the original. Also included on the Japanese version is the bonus track "Trippin Over You". It's a frenetic guitar infused track that will leave you begging for more!
But this album and discover the UK's best kept secret!
