Editorial Review:
Most soundtracks for movie blockbusters are a mixed bag, and this one is no exception. The Ali soundtrack is heavily weighted toward R&B, and on that front the album is a success, despite R. Kelly's two horrendously saccharine power ballads. There's no denying the greatness of classic tracks like Aretha Franklin's supremely melancholy "Ain't No Way" and Al Green's live rendition of "A Change Is Gonna Come," and David Elliot continues the old-school theme, with a warm and bluesy remake of "Bring It On Home to Me." Alicia Keyes's "Fight" channels the '70s vibe of James Brown's Funky People, and the fabulous Angie Stone breaks it down and keeps it moving with "20 Dollars." Things go awry when it comes to the rock & roll selections. Everlast's blues-rock posturing on "The Greatest" is irksome, and the Watchtower Four's remake of the classic Bob Dylan song "All Along the Watchtower" (done best by Jimi Hendrix) is a travesty. Topnotch contributions by cello virtuoso Martin Tillman, former Dead Can Dance vocalist Lisa Gerrard, and Afropop superstar Salif Keita help balance things out. --Rebecca Levine

Greatest Soundtrack I Have Ever Heard 5 Star Review
2006-06-27 - This has got to be the single greatest soundtrack that i have heard to this date. I have watched the movie over and over again, and the performance by Will Smith is incredible, and they have made a soundtrack to match the intensity of the motion picture. Besides Al Green, R. Kelly, and Alicia Keys coming up with great tracks to match the movie, Salif Keita's "Tomorrow" tops off this soundtrack as my all time favorite. I jog, lift weights, and go to sleep listening to this song. I have got to say that the editors of this one really outdid themselves. Great Job!!

They are Missiong Songs from The Movie ! 1 Star Review

Change Coming 3 Star Review
2005-03-15 - There's a few songs on this soundtrack that are really good, especially the song by Al Green. Aretha has a good song on here. There's some nice tracks. I really enjoyed a few songs. Then there are others that are not good at all, and I have never listened to them completely because they left a lot to be desired. It's good anyway, because the few strong songs are really good enough to make it worth it to purchase this cd.

Inspiring - 4.5 stars 4 Star Review
2003-01-24 - A truly powerful soundtrack from a powerful movie. First off id like to state to some people who reviewed this cd stating its not the music in the film. If your looking for music straight from a film then buy the score!!!! Now back on subject, ive rated each song out of 5 so you can get the overall feel (because most soundtracks are pick and choose).

1- the worlds greatest - 5/5
2- fight - 5/5
3- hold on - 5/5
4- a change is gonna come - 5/5
5- aint no way - 3.5/5
6- sometimes - 3/5

7- 20 dollars - 4/5
8- for your precious love - 3/5
9- bring it on home to me - 4.5/5
10- Ali the greatest - 4.5/5
11- mistreated - 5/5
12- tommorow - 5/5 - UNBELIEVABLE, I challenge you to find a more powerful song
13- all along the watchtower - 5/5
14- odessa - 5/5
15- see the sun - 5/5

Overall this soundtrack is very jazzy and soulful. I'm normally not one to buy soundtracks but I am a huge fan of Cassius Clay so I thought id give this a try and i'm glad I did.
