    Description of Fierce Creatures:
In an attempt to catch lightning in a bottle, Monty Python veteran John Cleese wrote this slapstick farce for the purpose of reuniting the comedic cast of A Fish Called Wanda. Fierce Creatures is all about a media mogul (Kevin Kline) who owns a London zoo. He demands that the park raise more profit, so the new zoo director (Cleese) orders that only dangerous animals be displayed in order to maximize ticket sales. In a dual role, Kline also plays the mogul's son, who plans to run the zoo with the help of displaced employees (including Michael Palin) and zoo programmer Willa Weston (Jamie Lee Curtis). The situation lends itself to comedic confusion and split-second timing, and for a few good laughs the film is a pretty safe bet. It's not as hilarious as A Fish Called Wanda (that's a pretty tall order), but Cleese knows comedy, and his efforts are worth a look. --Jeff Shannon

    Fierce Creatures Reviews:
    Funny Movie 5 Star Review
2009-11-19 - Fierce Creatures is the sequel to A Fish Named Wanda. The same incredible funny cast are put together in a story about a zoo keeper and other zoo personnel trying to save the zoo from closing. An eccentric billionaire sends his son (Kevin Kline) and a corporate manager (Jamie Lee Curtis) to see if the zoo can make a 20% profit or else it will be closed down. John Cleese is a scream as the zoo's manager. The cast are great together and the animal humor is too much fun. If you liked a Fish Called Wanda, you will love Fierce Creatures. This movie Will make you laugh.

dve "fierce creatures' 5 Star Review
2009-07-08 - the dvd 'fierce creatures' that i ordered was inexpensive, new and i received it in a timely manner.

"A Lemur Called Rollo" 4 Star Review
2009-07-08 - Let me take it out of my system first. There never will be another A Fish Called Wanda. That comedy was one and only, perfect, brilliant, mean, witty, the best film about culture clashes, the best backstabbing comedy, the best - everything. For me, Wanda is a Citizen Kane of the comedy. Period. What makes is outstanding, are the four partners in crime as written by John Cleese and played by Cleese himself, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Palin, and Kevin Kline that were simply incredible, and, let's face it, despite being criminals and backstabbers, you would love them all. I know I did.

When Fierce Creatures was released 12 years ago, I ran to see it and I was bitterly disappointed. I expected Wanda, Part 2 - which is impossible because ...see the first paragraph. Last night I caught FC on TV and I have to admit that it IS a good and funny film. It knows that it is a follow up to A Fish Called Wanda. It references to the perfect predecessor, makes you laugh, and lets you meet again with the fabulous four and many supporting players from Wanda. Fierce Creatures has gained Cult Status with years, and I am now a part of its following. The script was written by John Cleese and the plot is convoluted and silly at the same time. The best, the funniest moments play off mistaken assuming that John Cleese's character Rollo, ex-cop appointed the London Marwood Zoo Director, is a sexy beast for whom one woman is not enough. The scenes between Cleese (Rollo Lee) and Willa Weston, an American business-woman (Jamie Lee Curtis) are the funniest. The weakest links in the movie are IMO Michael Palin who unlike his character Ken in AFCW can talk and he just would never shut up. His character became boring and annoying very soon. The same sadly should be said about Kevin Kline playing two roles, the Australian billionaire Ron McClain, ruthless, obnoxious, and vulgar, and his weakling loser son Vince whom his father despises. Needless to say there is not much love lost between an arrogant father and his estranged son. The film has so many hilarious jokes and witty references not only to A Fish Called Wanda but to Monty Python series that by the time of the conclusion, I had enough fun and laughs to tolerate and forgive the loud and messy final act.

    3.5/5

Fierce Creatures is Fiercly Funny! 5 Star Review
2009-03-19 - Monty Python fans will really appreciate the brilliant comedic performance by John Cleese. Joining him are "A Fish Called Wanda" castmates Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline. This is insanely clever, full of inuendos and ironic twists that will make you laugh and laugh and laugh some more. This is my familie's favorite flick ( my children are 17 and 19) and a real sleeper because no one seems to know about it. Kevin Kline fans will love his duel role as both father and son. The whole zoo business makes it even funnier. Fans of English humor with simply love this movie.

Continuation on Fish Called Wanda 5 Star Review
2008-06-24 - If you loved "A Fish Called Wanda" you will love this movie. So incredibly funny I laugh so hard even though I've seen it over a dozen times. All the characters mesh so well and the story line is beyond hilarious. It's on my "must have" list.
