Halloween: 30th Anniversary Box Set Reviews:
Great dvd Set well waited for
2008-12-04 - If you own all the films dont buy it. This would be a waste. & the rob zombie remake was a diffrent point of view. This box set was well waited for some people dont own all the films and like geeting them all at once. like me. they were all pretty good moviesHard to pick the best one .So if you only want to get each movie spreat then do it if youu want the box then get the box...
Don't Wort To Buy !!
2008-12-02 - Poor this is all I can tell you !! Nothing Special !!
Waste Of $$
Awesome set!
2008-11-03 - Granted most Horror fans already own these films, but it's cool to have Halloween (extended, DVD, Blue-Ray) H4 and H5 all in one set with a cool Myers mask in the middle of the box. Great gem to pick up to bring back the joy of Halloween. This set arrived just in time, awesome! All we need now is a full fledged boxset of all the Halloween films like the Nightmare On Elm Street box. \m/
ANCHOR BAY PLEASE STOP!!
2008-10-29 - First off, let me state I've always loved Anchor Bay as a company since they first started releasing some of the most hard to find horror titles around that some of us would have never seen. When they announced they were coming out with a 30th Anniversary Edition, I almost fell out of my chair. With that said, this 30th Anniversary Box Set of Halloween is one of their lowest points in the company's history. It seems they wanted to re-release the SE Halloween some time ago (they watch Ebay also and noticed the ridiculous prices consumers were paying for it) but didn't want to give it away for the $15-$20 it should command. So then they decided to throw in the 2 movies they have rights to (to boost up the price). Add a BR version (which was coming out anyway) and a flimsy mask and they have their price ($50). In these hard financial times, a $50 box set (which isn't even complete) should be boycotted at all costs. This is the same marketing tactics used on the releases of Grindhouse ("let's make 2 separate DVDs of both movies") and The Reanimator ("let's re-release the same DVD every 5th year"). MESSAGE TO ANCHOR BAY: If you don't have anything new to add to a DVD or Box Set, leave it alone! If you can't get the rights to the other Halloweens, don't make another Box Set. The only thing you can add to another Halloween release is the "found footage" or the Producer's Cut of H6. If you can't get the rights of any of these, DO NOT RE-RELEASE THIS MOVIE AGAIN!!
For the collector
2008-10-27 - I tried hard to stay away from this box set but I could'nt resist. That 60$ hand puppet was calling my name. I love extra copies. No one will ever be able to stop me. Honestly It has given me the blu ray edition, cleaner copies of Halloween 4 and 5 and of course the extended edition. So for a true fan it's worth it. Especially for Halloween 5 being such a great sequel. Donald Pleasence plays the character of Dr. Lommis a little more eccentric than usual that time around. It's to be enjoyed
