Good Times - The Complete Fifth Season Reviews:
LOVE 'EM!!!!!
2008-12-14 - I really love this show. I was going to buy the complete series but changed my mind because I want every single season by itself. Great show.
We love this DVD.
2008-06-21 - We were missing 1 series of all the seasons; and this one was it. We now have all 6 seasons. These DVDs remind of when the world was so much easier. My kids really enjoy the clean cut comedy. Thanks.
Not the same without Esther Rolle!
2007-12-20 - This was the season that Esther Rolle had left with dying Carl for Florida. SAdly, I am giving it only three stars because the show was still good but not as good as the first three seasons with both parents. Anyway, Willona Woods played by the sassy and entertaining Janet Dubois adopts an abused girl, Penny, played by Janet Jackson. JOhnny Brown as Booker is also a regular and the three Evans kids are still here. While the show may have hit it's peak two seasons ago, the show still has our favorites. Janet Jackson's performance as abused child, Penny, was relatively done with dignity to entertain and inform the audiences about the dangers of child abuse. Like so many issues, Good Times had always managed to deliver a realistic portrayal of such a timely issue.
good family laughs
2007-12-13 - If you enjoy old sit-coms this is a must have for your collection. My kids 2,6,9 love watching this over and over so much so I had to hide it from my 2year old who calls it "JJ" This will have the whole family laughing.
Great Show with a Social Message
2007-10-07 - I wasn't born until after the show ended, but I loved watching the re-runs while I was growing up (and I still like watching them, although I have each of the seasons on DVD). The show had a very strong message about society at large, although the primary audience was African American. DYNO-MITE!!
