Great R&B album 
2007-04-13 - I'm still surprised that this one only sold 1 million copies in the USA. There are some standout tracks - Island Life, Spending Time With You, All Nite (Don't Stop) just to name a few.

also strawberry bounce, just a little while, damita jo are really worth a listen.
then there are the baby-making songs warmth and moist that definitely earn the name "verbal viagra."
overall, a great album, one of the most under-rated of 2004!
pick it up today or give it as a christmas present!

Review for "Damita Jo" by Janet Jackson 
2004-08-29 - This album doesn't even seem like it is sung by the same woman who had us dancing with "Rhythm Nation", but she tries to fit in and make all her songs about sex. Some people complain that the arrangements tend to "drown out" her voice, but that has been the case since Janet first started singing. There are very few highlights on this album: the title track is absolutely awesome, as well as the single "I Want You" and "Just A Little While". Although "All Nite (Don't Stop)" is a big hit and a great dance track, its still a typical sex song like most of the tracks. "Sexhibition" (known as "Exhibition" on the clean version) and "Strawberry Bounce" tell us too much information, and thank God that "Moist" and "Warmth" were omitted from this "clean" version. All of this being said, "Thinkin' About My Ex" and "Spending Time With You" are two of the major highlights of the album. Some of the songs are really good, but there is just as many good ones as there is bad. And the over five spoken interludes slow down the pace of the CD and to be honest, they're just boring. Listen to the samples before you buy this CD...

2004-07-10 - this record is far too dirty to be censored. trust me , you're making a mistake if you buy the clean version of this album. they cut words out like "ass" , "fourplay" , and "doin'" (as in "having sex") . they also cut out the part in "like you don't love me" when she said "xxx porn" (in the second verse). i swear , they wouldn't have censored this record the way they did , had she not gone on television a month earlier (on the superbowl halftime show) and exposed her right breast. but she didn't even show anything , her nipple was covered!!! i also am dissapointed because the songs "warmth" (about giving a ... well , i'll let you judge for youself!) and "moist" are not included on this CD. trust me , buy the filthy version of this album , it's a lot better.

2004-06-01 - "DAMITA JO" has a few highs and lows. The best songs are "Damita Jo", "Exhibition", and "I Want You". There are a few other notable songs, but I think these three stand out. I personally don't care for the interludes, I think some are really silly and make the album seem somewhat boring. Some of the songs for me were just a bit on the silly side such as "R&B Junkie". It is by no means a terrible album, nor by any a great one, so I give it 3 stars for being average.
