Everytime/ Accept Me Reviews:
Let Go--> Break Free, Release, & Love Yourself!
2009-09-27 - This is a classic CD single featuring "Everytime" from Janet's album titled, The Velvet Rope and the non-album track "Accept Me", both soft, soothing R&B jams to touch hearts, sympathize with, or just reminisce. Housed in a slim-line jewel case with artwork made by Kevyn Aucoin and recorded in 1998 produced by Janet Jackson, Rene Elizondo Jr along with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis for Flyte Time Productions Inc. If your world is hard, life is treating you harsh, this single will help you free those insecurities, rediscover your inner, and free you from the fears.
"every time" [Album Version] (4:17) is a slow R&B melody with soft on the ears vocals by Janet. The theme of being scared to trust and love after a past break-up can be hard to carry weighting down on your desire to fall in love again. This song is beautiful for the soul in "releasing" those fears and freeing the pain. Janet's singing along the music is therapeutic and enjoyable at the same time.
"every time" [Jam & Lewis Disco Remix] (4:10) is also found on the Limited Edition Double Disc The Velvet Rope. While the first track was a slow and mellow jam this one picks the pace a couple of notches and more instruments are heard. The beats are more rapid with hints of disco, and more up-tempo "pick me up" styles.
"accept me" [Non-Album Track] (4:07) is a beautiful ballad that mentions "Accept me for who I am...I'm doing the best I can so please don't give up on me... accept me for who I am just try and understand... because that's the way it is...". The sound is flow smooth R&B gliding, sliding and meshing with Janet's beautiful vocals--very rich and non-breathy yet soft and sweet.
This selection is one of my favorites for the concept behind the music, very apparent in the Velvet Rope Era. The issues of race, sex, prejudice, and other topics were put on the *spotlight* revealing a Janet more ready to share her life-lessons, love, and care! This single is classic, timeless, and definitely a top selection for the die-hard fan or newcomer.
A beautiful ballad stepped up a bit plus non album song.
2005-05-21 - Firstly, BRITNEY SPEARS DOES NOT SING THIS SONG. Her song by the same title is a different song entirely. This songs reminds me a little of "Again", Jacksons 1993 hit from her Janet album. It is a piano-driven romantic love jam (Like Britney's song by the same title).
Now the "Disco" mix, which sounds more Housey than Discoey works nicely here still keeping the romantic element. There are no long intos, breakdowns or dragged out outros. This is not a club dj recommendation as those needed aspects of a mix are absent. It's great for a house party, however.
For the one who has just have to have all of Janet's music, they will find this an essential buy becasue there is a song that did not make the cut for the Velvet Rope album and it does not appear elsewhere other than as a b-side for this song.
A Good Cd Single
2004-03-03 - This Is Such A Good Cd Single I Thought There Would be more Remixes But It's Algood there only three tracks on it

This Is A Good Cd i Love It... I've had This Cd Since 1998 ever since it first came out and it's really really good i still love it. It's The last Single For The Velvet rope. Buy it Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simply love it
2004-01-12 - An ex-girlfriend gave me this cd single as a gift back in '99 and this has been my favourite song eversince that time. I have to say I treated the person who gave me this single like dirt, and with all honesty, I hate the person I was then. Now we are the bestest of friends though!!Everytime is an excellent song. With the master minds Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis behind the song, how can it possibly be a bore? "Accept Me" is also a very simple yet very strong song!! Truly a gem!
Good song
2003-09-20 - She's perhaps the most versatile artist of all time. I always wondered how can someone arouse such a wide scale of feelings with her songs. Ever compared "Rhythm Nation" to "Every Time"? It's really surprising that the two very different songs were written and performed by the same artist. That's what I call talent.
"Every Time" is from "The Velvet Rope", which is one of my favorite Janet albums (second only to Rhythm Nation 1814). The song makes me feel emotional every time I listen it. A perfect one to listen while you're dreaming.
The single also features a disco remix and a previously unreleased song, "Accept Me".
