2002-05-03 - This CD was great! Can definitely see why it was hailed as one of the best of the year when it was released. Lots of folks have issues with this CD being so introspective, but I think Ms. Jackson has put her feelings/pain that most of us can relate to out there so we can see she's not a prima donna. While "Go Deep" is the fun-nest track--in the spirit of what I call the "Janet happy go lucky formula" like "Escapade", "When I Think of You", and so on. Love the edginess of "What About". "Got 'Til Its Gone" is the cool out groove on the album. "Together Again" is such an awesome song because I have personally watched Janet's words help so many of my friends and family (even those who dared to tell me they were not Janet fans) cope wit the loss of very special people in their lives. (And by the way, everyone of them is now a Janet convert.) I have given this CD to quite a few people as gifts and they all love. If you didn't like this CD initially, give it another listen and buy it for a friend.

By far the best tune from the Velvet Rope CD
1999-07-15 - The was the only song from the Velvet Rope CD that was kickin'. Classic Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis work. These guys are the best in the industry! So, what in the world happen to the rest of the CD. Man, did Janet "freak out" on this one. Go Deep is great...the rest of the CD is weak!
