Rhythm Nation Reviews:
Why hasn't this been released on DVD? 5 Star Review
2005-05-16 - I absolutely love this short-film from my childhood. A companion addition to the seven videos from Rhythm Nation, the movie of the same name expands the earliest videos from Rhythm Nation: the title track, Miss You Much, and includes a non-single "The Knowledge" which is an awesome track and a dynamite video.

The movie overall is a socially-conscious movie about the dangers of illiteracy and all of the wrongs of society and the message of hope and that the truth about us all is that we are color-blind, that is not basing our attitudes on the color of our skin but on our character.

Although it's been over 16 years since it was made, the power of this movie has only gotten stronger with each passing year and with the social turmoil that seems to be increasing in our country, this video has gone from an entertaining movie to actually being an important work of art from a former favorite of mines.

A sad thing Janet lost her way with each passing year after RN wrapped up.

this is a rare find, and i'm glad i purchased it 5 Star Review
2004-08-23 - OMG!!!!, i can't believe how good this is, i'm bout to go listen to RN again, (LOL) 4real. The plot of the movie was good, the the way the videos were merged, had me thinking back to Michael Jackson's moonwalker. i wish she would've made a video for state of the world. The message from the video was true back then as it is now. i got advice from that tape, that i could put to good use now, about not giving up on what you want to do, nothing is impossible.
Janet, you were and still are the best!!

great video 5 Star Review
2004-01-12 - the music and dancing is awesome, and has a good message to it. Janet was at her artistic peak with this album/movie. It also won a grammy.

Making the best with what you have! 5 Star Review
2003-12-31 - Coming behind the coattails of legendary brothers, the youngest Jackson had to carve out her distinctive niche.

And, man, did "Miss Jackson" do just that. Saddled with two of the hottest producers in the business, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Jackson released the landmark album "Rhythm Nation 1814" in 1989 and the critics and the public went wild. The platinum-selling album spawned no less than seven hit singles, all with accompanying videos that only added to their success.

This video compilation is the perfect "trip down memory lane" as Jackson and her superb troupe of dancers prance, shimmy, grind, and cavort to the title cut, "Miss You Much", "Love Will Never Do (Without You)", "Alright" (with guest performances from Cyd Charisse, the Nicholas Brothers, Cab Calloway, and Heavy D), "Escapade" with its carnival influences", "Black Cat", "Lonely", and "Come Back to Me" with its Parisian background.

Top-notch direction from Dominec Sena, Peter Smillie, Julian Temple, Wayne Isham and the late Herb Ritts allowed the singer to shine as only she could in each mini-spectacle.

wonderful! 5 Star Review
