Editorial Review:
MARY FLORE IS A WEDDING PLANNER WHOSE SINGULAR DEDICATION TO HER WORK HAS KEPT HER FROM FINDING THE MAN OF HER DREAMS. WHEN SHE FINALLY MEETS MR. RIGHT, HE TURNS OUT TO BE THE GROOM FROM ONE OF HER UPCOMING WEDDINGS.
Description of The Wedding Planner:
The good news is, yes, Jennifer Lopez can do comedy. In The Wedding Planner Lopez is Mary, a lovable woman who believes "those who can't do, teach. Those who can't wed, plan!" Her slapstick moments are lighthearted and she is spot-on as the controlling, compulsive-yet-sweet planner. The bad news is Lopez didn't get much of a vehicle in which to test drive her newfound comedic skills.
Mary's life is her career. Planning other people's weddings takes all of her time, leaving no room for a love life of her own. Her only personal life is a Scrabble club, to which she and her father (Alex Rocco, whose wandering Italian accent is painful to listen to) belong. When a handsome young doctor (Matthew McConaughey) saves her from a collision with a runaway dumpster (really, it works), she is instantly wooed by his quiet charm. Too bad he's the fiancé of Mary's biggest client, Fran (played winningly by Bridgette Wilson-Sampras), the job that will launch Mary as a partner in her firm.
The main problem with this film is that no one wants to hurt anyone else's feelings. Everyone is just so gosh-darn nice. In a subplot, Mary's father is trying to arrange her marriage to just the nicest Italian boy. Gee, he's sweet. Golly, Fran is nice. Is there ever a way out of this mess and to leave everyone smiling? Yet, there is a touch of old-fashioned romance to this wholesome film, which can only be described as "cute." And while things may unfold in a predictable manner, The Wedding Planner is still lighthearted fun of the sort that inspires dreamy romantic thoughts. --Jenny Brown
The Wedding Planner Reviews:
An Awesome Romantic Comedy!!!
2009-10-02 - I thought this had a really good love story, and had hilarious moments! Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey were perfect together. Lopez stars as Mary Fiore who is a wedding planner that doesn't have a love life, until she is saved from an accident by Dr. Steve Edison. Mary begins to fall in love with him, until she realizes that he is engaged to her biggest client. I highly recommend THE WEDDING PLANNER!!!
Love the movie! Hate the seller!! DO NOT BUY FROM luvalfarm!!!
2009-09-30 - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!! I purchased my DVD and didn't receive it until 1 month later!!! Then I contacted the seller and he claimed that he didn't receive my original order which I find very hard to believe. I got an e-mail confirmation for this order from Amazon. Amazon is on top of things! I trust them more than I trust this seller. He was just making excuses so that I could give good feedback. But guess what, I didn't!!!
Would love to see a sequel.
2009-09-05 - A great movie. I applaud romance between two people with principles - honoring present commitment without the usual unnecessary sexual encounters - yet showing the physical attraction. (The scene with the statue is worth the price all by itself). Would love to see a part two with Jenifer and Matthew as a couple.

2009-05-19 - I had it on vhs so have upgraded to DVD. I believe this is a chick flick but I find it entertaining never the less. I am a guy who likes Lopez and if that isn't enough there is the blonde for the rest of you. Somewhat irregular story line, like getting his hand glued to the statue's genitals or the two guys riding the scooter through the bikers with the "just married sign" on the back was very humerous.
Romantic Fool
2009-05-05 - I love this movie. I can watch it over and over. Helps me forget for 2 hours all my woes and believe in love. What can I say, I'm a Romantic Fool.
