Editorial Review:
Brand new studio album including a remix of "Do It Well" featuring Ludacris.

Description of Brave:
It would take a pretty good argument to deny that Jennifer Lopez is brave--nobody transitions from dance to film to music as boldly or as fluidly--but bravery doesn't factor much into her new disc, despite the title. And that's a good thing. On Brave, JLo busts out a batch of songs that don't challenge pop-appreciative ears--there's no cross-genre experimenting, no political point-making, and no self-serving, overblown ballads. In their place are well turned-out hooks (see "Mile in These Shoes," a song apt to cause ankle injuries in untold numbers of Jimmy Choo owners), bright production ("Hold It Don't Drop It" samples Tavares's groovealicious "It Only Takes a Minute"), and a voice very much in the mood to have a good time. "Stay Together," the opener, sets a happy, beat-heavy tone that holds up all album long--here's Jenny reminding the masses that monogamy need not be a buzz kill: "Stay together, it's the new break-up/Stay together, it's the new trend," she trills, and you believe her. Brave may not be the most groundbreaking record ever to climb the pop charts, but it's enough to convince you JLo's discs don't stint on substance. And it'll raise your pulse, too. --Tammy La Gorce

Brave Reviews:
Its Ok 4 Star Review
2009-10-11 - i like this album, but its just ok, its not her best, the songs are good i hope she can do a exelent album someday

Very Talented! 5 Star Review
2009-09-16 - Jennifer Lopez is an amazing singer, "Como Ama Una Mujer" gives me chills even up to this day. I own all her albums, and to me, My favorite English cd is still "Rebirth".

but Brave is amazing! all of the songs are wonderful, I ABSOLUTLY LOVE J.Lo,
she is my favorite artist of all time, and this is coming from someone who also loves Madonna, Stevie Nicks,Celine Dion and Michael Jackson.

My Favorite song on the album is Brave, i think it's also one of the best songs she's ever sang. It's so beautiful!

Mile in these Shoes, Do It Well, Forever, and Wrong When You're Gone are also really good.

I DEFINATLEY RECCOMEND THIS!!!

I LOVE YOU J.LO!

love it..... 5 Star Review
2009-04-20 - I had no idea that I would find myself enjoying this record. One thing I praise J. Lo for is that she makes really great dance music that reminds you of the old days. That's the closest thing to how great music was back then. This record makes me want to listen to it over and over. The music they have right now sounds so bland and boring. There aren't that many artists from today that I would care listening to, but Jennifer hit the nail on this record. Too bad it didn't do so well, the songs on this album are really good. I love the retro vibe. And I love the album colors and cover art. It's very colorful and bright. It's officially my favorite album from J. Lo's. I didn't care too much for Rebirth. In my opinion, I think this album is much better. My favorites are Mile In These Shoes, Do It Well, Hold It, Don't Drop It, Stay Together, and Gotta Be There. This album is soo worth listening to. When I listen to the songs, I feel like i'm cruising through Miami Beach, sipping champagne, and having fun. It's just basically feel good music.

She got off the 6, and from there she became brave 4 Star Review
2009-04-14 - Jennifer Lopez is a talent powerhouse; there's just no getting around that. I don't mind supporting anything she does, because, nine times out of ten, I am not disappointed. Everything from here movies to her music to her clothing line to her perfume is great. I have enjoyed most of her albums, and "Brave" certainly is no exception. In fact, it's one of her best to date, certainly between her best and second best musical effort.

"Brave" brilliantly blends pop, r&b, and latin sounds together, but anyone who is familiar with Lopez's music knows that she does that with all of her albums: that is what makes her distinguished. I hadn't heard any songs from the album on the radio, but I didn't let that stop me from listening. What captured my attention, though, was the creative album cover. I love the fact that she is looking herself in the face. The album begins with an up-tempo tune called "Stay Together." She uses her upper register well here and the lyrics and melody get my seal of approval. She keeps the party going with "Forever." Again, she administers a hot beat, good delivery and an infectious hook. "Hold it Don't Drop it" is one of my personal favorites, especially the hook. The hook will have you putting this song on your iPod and dancing just like Jennifer Lopez! Well, maybe not exactly like her. Lyrically, "Mile in These Shoes" is the best this album has to offer. This mid-tempo track has lots of guitar, and although the hook doesn't match the beat, it's still a good track. The title track is a fine song, especially lyrics-wise. Lopez is simply telling everyone that she isn't afraid, she's going to be brave.

I highly recommend this album. It's a dance album, but there are some slower tracks for the ballad lovers. If you enjoyed any of her past albums, she has taken her music to another level, so I'm certain you will like "Brave."

Mikeisha's Top 5

2. "Hold it Don't Drop It"
3. "Forever"
4. "I Need Love"
5. "Stay Together"
