Editorial Review: Jessica Simpson, Do You Know
Do You Know? (Deluxe Version) Reviews: 50/50 2009-07-02 - Jessica Simpson's voice is absolutely amazing! She can really belt it out. Then why 2 stars? Let's just say the songwriting is HORRENDOUS! Oh it just totally kills the album. Not one single catchy song. It is a could have been.....
So wrong. 2009-05-13 - I feel sorry for this poor little girl, she can't sing country. What happpened to that big, beautiful voice that I loved on her debut album, Sweet Kisses - now that was magic. Ever since In This Skin I have been scratching my head and thinking where did her voice go? Come On Over is laughable, she tries so hard to do that country twang - i'ts painful to hear. I want my old Jess back, I know she's in there somewhere.
Jessica has finally found soul 2009-03-21 - Never really enjoyed her voice when she sang her pop songs in the past, but I was pleasantly surprised by this album. Jessica Simpson sings very well in this pop country album, and each song is remarkably beautiful. It's all heart and soul, making this album, in my view, the best out of all the other albums she has made.
Her voice is not for country music. 2009-03-08 - The song "Do you know" is catchy but overall, this is pop, folks! She just try everything to be successful but her talent is so so. "Jack of all trade" I must say. The handbags sale maybe better for her!
One of the best albuns out there 2009-01-20 - I can tell you this is her best work yet.
Her shift to country music was the best thing that she ever did. Every song on this album is beautifully written and she sings the songs better than ever.
To pick my favorites is almost impossible because I like them all so much, but "We might as well be making Love", "Pray Out Loud", "You're my sunday" and "Do you know" are the ondes that I listen the most. Her voice and emotion really makes you love all these songs.
The second cd, which is a dvd, it's really great too. Basicly, it's an interview with her about this album and her inspirations. Also there's the video for "Come on Over" and a behind the scens.
I ask all of you to strip down your preconceptions and buy this album. You will not be disapointed.
