Editorial Review:
Inspired by a true story and the classic 1974 film. A group of teenagers take a detour from a road trip and what happens next is beyond anyone?s darkest fears and raw nightmares.
Description of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:
The 2003 version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre adheres to the pure and simple slasher movie formula: Introduce a gaggle of sexy young people, make vague gestures to distinguish them--Jessica Biel (Summer Catch) wants to get married and doesn't like pot, so she's our moral compass--then start hacking them to pieces one by one. The visual palette includes grimy crucified dolls, fly-specked pig carcasses, body parts floating in murky jars, a tobacco-chewing redneck sheriff, and many slender beams of sunlight cutting through dank, dusty interiors. The camera lovingly photographs Biel's tank-topped bosom and sculpted abs as she's running in terror from a bloated, chainsaw-wielding, human-skin-wearing maniac. This remake lacks the macabre comedy of the original; it's all about the nauseating sensation of waiting for something to jump out of the dark. Also featuring Eric Balfour (Six Feet Under) and R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket, Mail Call). --Bret Fetzer
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reviews:
Are u Kidding me??????????/
2009-10-22 - New Line Has only one Good Version of TX Chainsaw Massacre
And this Re-make isn't it
They bought the License and tried 2 Change things up with
Leatherface: TX Chainsaw Massacre III
Which IMO is Such a Great under appreciated Horror Film
New Line Caved in on Leatherface let the MPAA Butcher the film.....
Fast Forward 13yrs Later and what does New Line Do Come up with this Master Plan to Re-Make a TRUE American Classic
That without a Doubt is the Original Slasher Film That Changed the land scape of Film Making and Horror Films in general
And this is "There" Re-Make that is Nothing more than, the Biggest F-You to All Horror Fans
Put Michael Bay name of the Credits and it will Draw money
Michael Bay isn't known for His Great Horror Films
Ooohhh yeah this was his 1st Horror Film and I must say It was a Sign 2 things to come
Michael Bay should be so Proud he has Destroyed Horror ICONS (Starting with Leatherface, Than Jason, Next on his Hit List is Freddy)
All for the love of Cashing in on Horror Fans
My advise to Mr. Bay stick to Stale Action Flicks and Films with Gobots Fighting!!!!!!!!!!!
Now Transformers was a True Horror Film!
If u want TX Chainsaw Massacre in HD
Snag the Original which is also on BR (And is a Must have Blu ray Disc)
Stay Clear of This Poor would be Re-make 2/10

A hard one to rate
2009-10-03 - I really was not sure weather i should give the remake 3 stars or 4 stars. Becuase i really did not know, i stuck with 3. Now, i did like this movie, however, there were certain elements in the movie i did not like.
One: they changed several names of characters(including Sawyer to Hewitt)
Two: there is no franklin(where is sally or "erin's" bro franklin?)
Three: a bunch of other crap i dont feel like typing.
Now, don't blow this movie off. its still a fairly good and super scary horror film. thats all i got to say.-foward-2222222333444091whtevrr!!1!@
Exceptional remake
2009-09-30 - Scary remake of a cult classic. Horrifying and graffic. A bunch of dumb teenagers who you think would be smarter end up making really bad decisions that force them to pay for it in a really gruesome way. The irony is the girl who is supposed to be the smartest, played by Jessica Biel, and wanting to do the right thing winds up dragging her friends down the road that just may kill them.
A surprisingly good revisit to horror's biggest legendary tale
2009-09-09 - I'm picky with horror movies, although I think they're all fun to watch, not many are actually 'good'. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is very good, and the remake is no doubt pretty darn good as well. Although very different, it's a good reimagining and its a really good story. I enjoy every entry in the series, but this one is my favorite since the original. I also like part 2 very much. I picked this blu ray up at walmart and it was worth the 14.96 I paid. I also go 'Midnight Movie', 'Creepshow' and 'Freddy vs. Jason'...but this one was the most packed with features and the best overall film of them all.
