A Masterclass in Hendrix Technique and Theory
2008-07-26 - Guitar playing can sometimes be difficult. This masterclass in the techniques of Jimi Hendrix is not for the beginner. Even an intermediate (I mean someone hwo has played a couple of years) would find this work challanging. But if you want to go deep, and really play Jimi's stuff, then this is a classic peice of research and presentation of how to do it. I don't know how it could be made easier, without seriously compromising how it sounds when played. The same analysis of SRV, Johnson, Vai, Satriani or Gambale would also be difficult - so it's not the author's fault - it's trying to step into the footprints of the master players that's hard.

If you're serious about playing like Hendrix you'll want a copy of this book. I'll knock a star off as there isn't a CD - but all the material is out there in albums, so you can listen to the music on the original CD's.

2008-04-01 - Lots of stuff here but hard to use this books needs a CD to make it useful. Other than that worth a look but don't believe the average guy will love it.
