The Jimi Hendrix Experience Reviews: The highlights and lowpoints of Jimi's short lived career. 1999-11-10 - Jerry Hopkins biography summarizes Jimi's life in a well but negative perpsective. To the reader an image of dislike may occur due to the false and unrealistic information given. As a reader I have great respect for Jimi and his music, but after reading this book I was discouraged by what people believe. Overall this book contained some great content about Jimi, but also focused too much on the tragedies rather than the highlights. Jimi should be more known for his accomplishments versus his faults.
From vibrant life to sudden death, a legend with myths. 1998-07-26 - Jerry Hopkins biography of rock legend Jimi Hendrix brings a wild mix of emotions to Hendrix fans and haters alike. Hopkin's fluent writing and somewhat accurate portrait of the rocker is hampered by myths and speculations by those who opposed him and those who loved him best. At times, the book brought tears to my eyes, but I also found myself disgusted by some of the popular myths about Hendrix. All in all, it is an interesting read for those interested in the reading a book proclaimed as "truth" but truly covered in gossip and speculation.
